Job Description

As a senior Web Developer on the Sustaining Engineering L3 team, you will support, enhance, and maintain Aptiv’s class-leading web-based automotive business intelligence tool. This role requires creativity, strong problem-solving skills, and self-motivation to address complex issues in a fast-paced production environment. You will investigate, root-cause, and resolve production issues across distributed systems, often involving complex legacy code and minimal documentation. You will collaborate with systems analysts, engineers, and developers to troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and ensure system reliability and performance, partnering with users to develop and execute acceptance test plans.
Must have:
  • Support and enhance Aptiv’s web-based automotive business intelligence tool
  • Investigate, root-cause, and resolve production issues across distributed systems
  • Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and developers for troubleshooting and improvements
  • Partner with users to develop and execute acceptance test plans
  • Stay current with evolving software technologies and tools
  • Full stack development experience with Java, React, Typescript, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Experience building microservices using Service Oriented Architecture
  • Ability to analyze, debug, and resolve issues in legacy codebases
  • Skill in navigating ambiguity and resolving issues independently
Good to have:
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Familiarity with UI design, data visualization, and user interaction
  • Experience creating UI templates and components
  • Enthusiasm for AI-assisted coding to enhance development
  • Familiarity with database schema design principles and SQL
  • Experience working with large data sets

YOUR ROLE

As a senior Web Developer on the Sustaining Engineering L3 team, you will support, enhance, and maintain Aptiv’s class-leading web-based automotive business intelligence tool. This role requires creativity, strong problem-solving skills, and self-motivation to address complex issues in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Support and enhance Aptiv’s class-leading web-based automotive business intelligence tool as part of the Sustaining Engineering L3 team.
  • Investigate, root-cause, and resolve production issues across distributed systems, often involving complex legacy code and minimal documentation.
  • Collaborate with systems analysts, engineers, and developers to troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Partner with users to develop and execute acceptance test plans that validate fixes and enhancements against customer expectations.
  • Stay current with evolving software technologies and tools to continuously improve support capabilities and development efficiency.

YOUR BACKGROUND

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Computer Science/Engineering or similar.
  • 5+ years of experience in web application software development.
  • Experience as a full stack developer utilizing Java, and front-end development experience with React, Typescript, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Experience building microservices using Service Oriented Architecture.
  • Proven ability to analyze and navigate legacy codebases, including independently investigating, debugging, and resolving issues without detailed documentation.
  • Demonstrated skill at navigating ambiguity and resolving issues without detailed instructions or oversight.
  • Experience with software testing (including unit testing frameworks).
  • Familiarity with debugging tools, performance profiling, and system optimization techniques.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and explain technical concepts.
  • Must work well under pressure and strive to meet commitments to delivery timelines.
  • Master’s degree in Computer science, Computer Engineering, or related degree programs.
  • Familiar with UI design, data visualization, user interaction experience, creating UI templates and components.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for AI-assisted coding and a track record of using state of the art tools to enhance development speed, efficiency, and code quality.
  • Familiar with database schema design principles and DB query languages such as SQL.
  • Experience working with large data sets.
