Job Summary

Electronic Arts is seeking a Software Engineer for their Frostbite Integration team. This hybrid role in Vancouver involves collaborating with EA Sports game teams to integrate the Frostbite engine, resolve issues, and optimize workflows. Must Have

  • Resolve issues during integration and ensure seamless delivery to the EA Sports game teams
  • Merge, develop and debug Frostbite and game code during the integration process
  • Update or refactor the game code to use new Frostbite APIs
  • Partner with game teams regarding new engine changes and improve the adoption strategy
  • Identify opportunities within the integration process and propose potential solutions to each game team
  • Communicate the underlying integration challenges to business partners and the Frostbite leadership
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a similar field of study or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of professional experience with C++ and C#
  • Experience with version control concepts and good practices
  • Hands-on code development and integration experience
  • Experience working with and defining requirements
  • Experience debugging large-scale systems
  • Experience with efficient code development and optimization

Good to Have

  • Experience in game engine development, release or integration
  • AAA development experience
  • Proficiency with Perforce and large code integrations
  • Experience working with or in Korean-speaking teams (language proficiency is beneficial but not mandatory)
  • Experience with current gaming platforms, mainly PC and mobile

This is a hybrid role (3 days per week in the office) based in the Vancouver office.

Frostbite is EA’s state-of-the-art multi-platform game development engine. Our global team develops creative engine features and cutting-edge tools that let our game makers create stunning games. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, this Software Engineer role offers an experienced professional the opportunity to collaborate with EA Sports game teams on integrating the latest releases of the Frostbite engine. As a member of the diverse, distributed Frostbite Integration team, you will work closely with internal partners, helping them adopt new engine versions and optimize their processes and workflows for maximum efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve issues during integration and ensure seamless delivery to the EA Sports game teams
  • Merge, develop and debug Frostbite and game code during the integration process

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a similar field of study or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of professional experience with C++ and C#
  • Experience with version control concepts and good practices

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$100,000 - $139,500 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees.
