Job Summary
Motorola Solutions is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 in Plantation, Florida. The intern will develop and test enterprise-level Windows applications using C#/.NET4.6, WPF, WCF, Java, and SQL. Responsibilities include working in an Agile/Scrum team, finding and repairing software defects, and performing system integration. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to world-class software applications for managing two-way communication devices for public safety.
Must Have
- Candidate's Graduation date must occur on or after December 2026.
- Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Must be a US Citizen, permanent resident or an MS student with work authorization (F1 Visa on CPT accepted only for masters-level students).
- Develop and test enterprise level, Windows based applications.
- Work in an Agile/Scrum team.
- Find, track, and repair device software defects.
- Perform system integration of software and hardware.
Good to Have
- Familiar with C#/.NET on Windows platforms/C++/Java
- Experience in Database: SQL
- Experience in UI: WPF
- Experience in Data model: Entity Framework
- Experience in System Communications: WCF, REST, OpenSSL
- Experience in Dev Environment: Visual Studio 2017 or greater
- Experience in Code Source Repository: Git (BitBucket)
- Experience in Work Tracking: Jira (Atlassian)
- Experience in Documentation: Excel, Confluence (Atlassian)
- Strong communication and problem solving skills.

The Motorola Solutions Device Management team specializes in the fulfillment of world class software applications for managing fleets of end user two-way communications devices for public safety.
Job Description
This position is for a Software Engineering internship opportunity at Motorola Solutions in Plantation, Florida. The candidate will be responsible for developing and testing enterprise level, Windows based applications.
These are applications written in C#/.NET4.6 on both the client & server side with WPF, WCF frameworks, with the addition of Java and SQL DB operations, and a roadmap directing it towards cloud & WEB services.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work in an Agile/Scrum team that analyzes, develops, designs, maintains, and tests software for the organization’s products and systems.
- Teamwork in a multi-site, world-wide development environment
- Finding, tracking, and repairing device software defects
- Performs system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiar with C#/.NET on Windows platforms/C++/Java
- Experience in the following is a plus:
- Database: SQL
- UI: WPF
- Data model: Entity Framework
- System Communications: WCF, REST, OpenSSL
