GE Vernova is seeking a Sr. Project Manager to lead the full project lifecycle for large rotating equipment, from design to commissioning. This role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams globally, ensuring on-time and on-budget execution, and managing commercial aspects. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in project management of large rotating machines, strong understanding of electromechanical design, and excellent communication and leadership skills.
Must Have
- Lead full project lifecycle for large rotating equipment (design, manufacturing, testing, delivery, and commissioning).
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across global locations.
- Ensure on-time, on-budget, and quality-compliant project execution.
- Oversee design and manufacturing reviews, ensuring adherence to customer specifications and standards.
- Provide transparent project updates to senior management and customers.
- Manage commercial aspects of the project: forecasting, invoicing, and claims/change management.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering.
- Solid experience in project management of large rotating machines.
- Strong understanding of electromechanical design and manufacturing processes.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Good to Have
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Knowledge of French.
- Working knowledge of ERP / project control systems (SAP, Primavera, etc.).
- Knowledge of Logistics rules like incoterm, HS Code.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full project lifecycle for large rotating equipment (design, manufacturing, testing, delivery, and commissioning).
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (engineering, supply chain, sourcing, quality, and services) across global locations.
- Ensure on-time, on-budget, and quality-compliant project execution, managing interfaces among global factories and engineering centers. Owns the alignment of the functions to a consolidate project schedule.
- Oversee design and manufacturing reviews, ensuring adherence to customer specifications and applicable standards (IEC, NEMA, API, etc.).
- Provide transparent project updates — progress, risks, mitigations, financial status — to senior management and customers.
- Facilitate cross-cultural collaboration and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage commercial aspects of the project: forecasting, invoicing, and claims/change management. Keep close connection with customer (internal and external) through the complete project cycle.
- Support customer meetings, inspections, and factory acceptance tests (FATs).
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all project activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering (or related field).
- Solid experience in project management or engineering management of large rotating machines (generators, motors, or synchronous condensers).
- Strong understanding of electromechanical design and manufacturing processes (stators, rotors, auxiliaries, balance-of-plant).
- Proven track record of managing complex international projects with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese (spoken and written).
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize competing demands, and deliver to tight schedules.
- Strong communication and leadership skills — able to influence, align, and drive accountability across matrix organizations.
- Willingness to travel internationally for project and customer meetings (~10–20%).
- Experience with synchronous condenser projects or other large synchronous machines.
- Familiarity with factory operations and testing of high-power electrical machines.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Desirable knowledge on French;
- Working knowledge of ERP / project control systems (SAP, Primavera, etc.).
- Logistics rules like incoterm, HS Code.
