Department Overview

Motorola Solutions is building talent pipelines to meet future hiring demands. Job Description

We are looking for a RF engineer to contribute to our development efforts on our next generation digital repeater products. The successful individual will work with a diverse group of engineers and software developers to architect and implement mission critical solutions.

The successful candidate will be involved with a team of customers, business managers and partner designers interpreting customer needs. He/She will develop flexible solutions that work for public safety first responders.

Responsibilities may include:

• Determine design approaches based on identified critical parameters
• Perform analysis to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
• Board bring up and testing
• Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability
• Perform simulations and present design reviews to peer engineers
• Write scripts to control synthesis and build tools
• Participation in Field and/or Customer support activities as required
• Occasional Travel will be required

Skills

• Working Knowledge of following is preferred
• RF transmission lines, line impedance and impedance matching
• Active and passive RF building blocks such as LNA, PLLS+ VCOs, oscillators, mixers, power amplifiers etc.
• Analog and Power supply circuit design
• Periphery devices such as ADC, DAC, Logic Gates, etc
• CAD tools such as ADS, Matlab, Simulink, HFSS
• PCB design Tools - Cadence preferred
• Compliance and Certification testing - FCC, IC, TIA, MIL
• RF test bench
• Programming for test automation
• SMD soldering for R&D
• Familiarity with the following is desired
• Digital Design
• DSP theory and operation
• P25 and / or LMR operation - 2 Way Radio communication
• Agile PLM tool
• Excellent English language communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or other relevant field
