Job Summary
Advanced Systems Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Studio Manager for a full-time, 100% onsite role in Santa Monica, CA. This role involves maintaining production spaces and systems, managing equipment inventory and repairs, and overseeing gear prep for productions. The manager will also develop and enforce quality control standards and support production teams in various technical and operational aspects within a 4300 sq ft studio environment.
Must Have
- Maintain integrity of physical infrastructure and systems in production spaces
- Oversee and/or participate in gear prep for on-site and off-site productions
- Develop and enforce quality control standards for gear prep and return
- Document and update best practices for onsite and offsite technical workflows
- Communicate new or updated best practices to internal partners and team members
- Responsible for technology upgrades, firmware updates, and managing/outsourcing repairs
- Design and develop organizational layouts and standards for studio equipment and storage rooms
- Responsible for executing and overseeing new purchases for equipment and technical furniture
- Manage studio equipment inventory using enterprise inventory software (e.g., EZ-Office, RentalWorks)
- Support the production team in sourcing crew for on-site productions
- Collaborate with producers, internal partners, and vendors for equipment needs
- Use Jira to input studio production data, communicate, assist with scheduling, and illustrate metrics
- Liaise with engineers and other vendors to maintain support with current infrastructure
- Work with Client Engineering & Corporate Security to ensure technical production hardware and software are up to date and safeguarded
- Advise and support the design and implementation of new and/or upgrades to existing studio builds
- Stay current on the latest technology trends and evaluate new products
- Advanced technical knowledge of cameras, lighting systems, and video distribution
- Experience in developing quality control workflows for equipment and production systems
- Experience in designing intuitive equipment storage rooms and workflows
- Service lead with strong vendor management experience
- Experience working with rental houses and studios
- Experience working with DMX systems and lighting board consoles
- 4+ years of experience working in production/rental houses
- 2+ years of experience on film sets
Good to Have
- Proven technical background in Principal production and inventory management
- Principal production experience in tech media, streaming, or creative marketing
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs unassisted
- Experience working in a start-up environment or tech company
- Professional certifications, credentials, and awards related to video production and creativity
- Valid California Driver's License (or the ability to obtain)
- Valid Passport for international travel (or ability to get one)

We are looking for:
Advanced Systems Group LLC. is seeking an experienced Studio Manager for a full-time, permanent, 100% onsite role. You will join our high-performing team and be responsible for maintaining the resilience and integrity of our production spaces and systems, and for managing organizational standards for equipment inventory and repairs. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for gear prep for on-site and off-site productions and for developing and enforcing quality control standards. Our production spaces cover approximately 4300 sq ft., including a cyc wall, sound stage, pocket-studio, audio booth, equipment, and control rooms equipped with grid and DMX lighting infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the integrity of the physical infrastructure and systems in the equipment storage rooms (cages), cyc wall, soundstage, pocket studio, audio booth, and temporary studio spaces.
- Oversee and/or participate in gear prep for on-site and off-site productions.
- Develop and enforce quality control standards for gear prep and return.
- Document and update best practices for onsite and offsite technical workflows to maintain high-quality standards while supporting the visions of our internal partners and production teams.
- Communicate with internal partners and team members about new or updated best practices to ensure equipment and systems are used appropriately.
- Responsible for technology upgrades, i.e., firmware updates, managing and outsourcing repairs.
- Design and develop organizational layouts and standards for studio equipment and storage rooms.
- Responsible for executing and overseeing new purchases for equipment and technical furniture.
- Manage studio equipment inventory using enterprise inventory software (e.g., EZ-Office, RentalWorks).

- Advise and support the design and implementation of new and/or upgrades to existing studio builds at Santa Monica Headquarters and other Client locations, i.e., New York City and London.
- Stay current on the latest technology trends and evaluate new products to advise on risks and benefits.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- A self-starter who works well without supervision, approaches problem-solving proactively with the ability to fix post issues quickly, and maintains professionalism and communication.
- Advanced technical knowledge of cameras, lighting systems, and video distribution.
- Experience in developing quality control workflows for equipment and production systems.
- Experience in designing intuitive equipment storage rooms and workflows.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Great time management skills; can shuffle tasks and resources while communicating to colleagues.
- Service lead with strong vendor management experience.
- Experience working with rental houses and studios is a must.
- Experience working with DMX systems and lighting board consoles.
- 4+ years of experience working in production/rental houses.
- 2+ years of experience on film sets.

Compensation & Benefits:
This full-time role offers a salary of $100,000 - 105,000, depending on experience.
