Job Description

As a Principal Engineer, the Systems Architect defines requirements, use cases, system flows, architecture, and specifications for Ethernet-based SerDes development, integrating and optimizing system solutions. This role involves driving the development, testing, and modification of system models to improve quality and performance, debugging systems, analyzing traces, and designing solutions for efficiency. The architect determines integrated hardware, software, and data architecture, maintains documentation, and acts as a domain expert influencing technical direction across Intel and the industry. They also mentor technical leaders, grow the community, and formulate technical strategy to deliver leadership solutions.
Good To Have:
  • Masters in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience in SerDes Systems Architecture and Simulation
  • Experience with system-level bring-up and debug in collaboration with firmware, RTL and hardware teams
  • Experience with technical leadership and customers
  • Exposure to firmware development and assembly optimization for PHY signal processing chains
Must Have:
  • Bachelors in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in SerDes Systems architecture and simulation
  • Expert user of Matlab, Simulink and fixed-point modeling to architect and validate PHY signal processing pipelines
  • Experience with 112/224G PAM4 SerDes design
  • Experience in performance modeling(BER/SNR), convergence analysis and design trade-offs

Job Description:

Architects and defines systems requirements, use cases, system flows, systems architecture, and specifications that integrate and optimize system solutions for Ethernet based SerDes development. Drives development, testing, and modification of new and existing systems models for improvement in quality and performance standards. Performs testing and debugging of systems, analyzes traces to root cause defects, and develops debug and analysis tools. Designs delivery and operation of systems solutions that drive standards and efficiency across the ecosystem. Determines integrated hardware, software, and data architecture solutions that meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security needs. Maintains documentation of specifications and best practices. As a principal engineer, recognized as a domain expert who influences and drives technical direction across Intel and industry. Develops, leads and mentors other technical leaders, grows the community, acts as a change agent, and role models Intel values. Aligns organizational goals with technical vision, formulates technical strategy to deliver leadership solutions, and demonstrates a track record of relentless execution in bringing products and technologies to market.
