Job Summary

CRB Workforce is seeking a Systems Engineer for a 6-month contract-to-hire role, with a conversion salary of $85,000-$90,000. This remote position, based in Santa Rosa, CA, requires 6+ years of MSP experience. The role involves providing escalation-level technical support, troubleshooting, and project engineering for Managed IT clients. Key responsibilities include incident response, SOW execution, and contributing to process improvements, while maintaining high standards of documentation and client communication. Candidates should possess strong technical skills in Active Directory, Azure, networking, and enterprise software.

Must Have

  • Strong experience with incident response and day-to-day client support in a Managed Services environment
  • Ability to handle escalated tickets as well as project engineering work, including SOW creation and execution
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills
  • Deep experience working in structured IT environments following ITSM / ITIL standards
  • Strong understanding of ticket hygiene, documentation standards, and detailed technical notes
  • Active Directory and Windows Server administration
  • Azure infrastructure design and administration
  • Network design, implementation, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with standard enterprise software suites (Microsoft 365, Adobe, etc.)
  • 6+ years of experience working remotely and/or in the field for a Managed Service Provider (MSP)
  • Proven experience authoring functional designs and as-built documentation (network and server environments)
  • Experience auditing and maintaining client documentation
  • Ability to create Bills of Material (BOMs) recommending hardware and software solutions
  • Experience authoring and presenting Scopes of Work (SOWs) to clients
  • Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills
  • Provide remote and onsite escalation-level technical support for Managed IT clients
  • Respond to escalated requests from Service Desk Engineers
  • Troubleshoot issues using established best practices and standard operating procedures
  • Support project engineering efforts including SOW execution and technical planning
  • Contribute to division initiatives, process improvements, and best-practice development
  • Maintain accurate daily utilization reporting and calendar usage within the PSA tool
  • Demonstrate professionalism, positive attitude, and adherence to company values
  • Follow standard operating procedures and consistently use approved tools
  • Mentor junior engineers and participate in knowledge sharing
  • Travel as required to support client needs
