The Systems Engineer will join Philips' BRITE program, focusing on breakthrough innovation. This role involves transforming customer and product management concepts into engineering requirements, contributing to cybersecurity, and designing an innovative clinical data platform. Responsibilities include transferring product knowledge, collaborating with various teams to ensure product quality and scalability, and interacting with customers to refine product vision. The ideal candidate possesses strong software design, problem-solving, and project management skills, with a Master's degree and 7+ years of experience.
Must have:
  • Transform customer input and product management concepts into product and engineering system requirements.
  • Contribute to cybersecurity framework aspects during product design and development.
  • Design an innovative clinical data platform providing real-time analytics.
  • Transfer product knowledge to product management and professional services teams post-release.
  • Interact with architecture, software development, verification teams to ensure product quality, performance, and scalability.
  • Interact with customers to turn their requirements into product design/vision.
  • Strong ability to design user-focused, complex software products.
  • Capacity to aggregate needs and constraints from multiple stakeholders into consistent solutions.
  • Problem solving, and an in-depth understanding of turning complex technologies into easy-to-use and reliable products.
  • Ability to successfully establish and maintain strong working relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communications, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Project Management skills: Ability to build, execute and report on a multi-disciplinary plan.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in product development or equivalent.
Good to have:
  • Knowledge in SaaS, Cloud products and/or product security.
  • Experience with cloud native applications.
  • Certification in Systems Engineering, Requirement Engineering, System Modeling or equivalent.

Job Details

The Philips BReakthrough Innovation TEams (BRITE) are the embodiment of Philips' new approach to driving breakthrough innovation. The BRITE approach accelerates innovation by being the organizational sandbox to nurture nascent projects from the early innovation stage to the full ability to scale.

The BRITE Program Leads, reporting directly to Research, will be the key leaders for individual BRITE programs, with full end-to-end responsibility, as role models with intrapreneurial characteristics of agility, creativity, speed, and drive (to name a few).

Your role:

  • You will be responsible for transforming the Customer input and Product Management concepts into product requirements and engineering system requirements from stakeholder inputs, following the Quality Management System.
  • In collaboration with the Cybersecurity Risk Manager, you will contribute to several aspects of cybersecurity framework during the design and development of the product, including: Threat Modeling, Risk Identification and Assessment, Risk Mitigation, Risk Summarization and reporting and post-market vulnerability assessments
  • You will be instrumental in designing an innovative clinical data platform providing real-time analytics. Your main scope may include the design of a cloud analytics platform, the definition of data storage and interfaces and the design of the user facing web applications.
  • Once the product is released, you will be highly instrumental in transferring the product knowledge to the product management and professional services teams.
  • You will need to interact with architecture, software development, verification teams, and others to ensure that the products meet our quality, performance, and scalability expectations in a time constrained environment.
  • Along with Product Managers and Professional Services, you may interact with customers to turn their requirements into product design/product vision.

Experience and skills

  • Strong ability to design user-focused, complex software products
  • Capacity to aggregate needs and constraints from multiple stakeholders into consistent solutions
  • Problem solving, and an in-depth understanding of the process of turning complex technologies into easy-to-use and reliable products
  • Ability to successfully establish and maintain strong working relationships with various stakeholders including R&D team members, Product Managers, Project Managers, IT resources, Sales, and Support
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communications, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Project Management skills: Ability to build, execute and report on a multi-disciplinary plan
  • Knowledge in SaaS, Cloud products and/or product security is a plus

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Fluent in English is a must
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field required
  • 7+ years of experience in product development or equivalent preferably in the healthcare or software development industry
  • Experience with cloud native applications is a plus
  • Certification in Systems Engineering, Requirement Engineering, System Modeling or equivalent is a plus
