Job Description

Join Reflector Entertainment Ltd in downtown Montreal as a Technical Audio Designer. Reporting to the Audio Director, you will bridge audio direction and technical integration, designing and maintaining robust audio systems. You will support audio designers and programmers, optimize the audio pipeline, and act as an expert to evolve the Wwise/Unreal pipeline for innovative gaming experiences.
Must Have:
  • Design, document and maintain audio pipelines in Wwise and Unreal (events, RTPCs, states, switch systems, profiling, streaming).
  • Optimize audio performance (CPU, memory, latency) and stability.
  • Create and maintain internal tools and workflows by promoting the productivity and creativity of the audio team.
  • Ensure technical follow-up in Jira and Confluence (up-to-date documentation, accurate tickets, clear accountability).
  • Work closely with the Audio Director to develop, maintain and document audio systems.
  • Work closely with the playability and engine programmers for audio integration.
  • Support audio designers on integration and performance issues.
  • Coordinate technical requirements with the engineering design department.
  • Participate in the implementation of advanced features (procedural audio, haptics, spatialization, dynamic system audio, etc.).
  • Experiment and propose new technical approaches that enrich the sound narrative.
  • Share technical best practices and contribute to the studio's audio culture.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in video game audio, including at least one AAA project.
  • Experience in creating or maintaining complex audio pipelines.
  • Familiarity with multichannel and immersive standards (5.1, 7.1, binaural, Atmos, haptics).
  • Excellent mastery of Wwise and its integration with the Unreal 5 engine.
  • Strong understanding of routing, buses, RTPCs, states, and memory/streaming optimizations.
  • Working knowledge of scripting or procedural tools (Blueprints, Python, Lua, etc.).
  • Experience with audio profiling and troubleshooting performance issues.
  • Good understanding of version control (Perforce), Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to diagnose, document and clearly communicate technical issues.
  • Rigour, autonomy and technical curiosity.
  • Ability to translate artistic needs into pragmatic technical solutions.

YOUR IMPACT
