Job Description

Electronic Arts is seeking a Sound Designer Intern for a full-time, 6-month placement starting January 2026 at DICE Stockholm. The intern will work under a Lead Sound Designer, creating and implementing sound content using the Frostbite engine, refining it through playtesting, and actively participating in audio feedback and mixing sessions. This role is ideal for university students passionate about game audio, offering a chance to contribute to the Battlefield franchise.
Good To Have:
  • Knowledge of audio middleware, e.g. WWISE, FMOD, Unreal, Unity
  • Knowledge of graphical audio programming, e.g. Reaktor, Max-MSP, Pure Data
Must Have:
  • Work within a small, well-defined area of a project's sound design under a Lead Sound Designer
  • Create content in line with existing designs and audio direction
  • Implement sound content into the game using the Frostbite game engine
  • Refine content and supporting logic through playtesting and feedback sessions
  • Provide and respond to Audio feedback as part of the Audio team
  • Be an active mixer for your assets and provide feedback on the title's overall mix
  • Currently enrolled at university or education provider with a planned internship period
  • Eligible to work in Stockholm, Sweden, without visa/relocation support
  • Available to commence a full-time 6-month placement in January 2026
  • Experience of designing sounds for interactive or linear media
  • Proficient skills with modern studio hardware, editing and designing techniques, and software such as Reaper, ProTools, Sound Forge, Waves, IzoTope RX
  • Outstanding "critical listening" skills
  • Submit an up-to-date CV and show-reel (sound design skills in linear or interactive media) in English

Responsibilities:

  • Working under a Lead sound designer, you will work within a small and well defined area of a project's sound design.
  • You will create content in line with existing designs and audio direction and implement this into the game using the Frostbite game engine.
  • Through playtesting and feedback sessions you will refine the content and its supporting logic to ensure it is fit for purpose and improve quality.
  • As a part of the Audio team, you will provide and respond to Audio feedback and be an active mixer for your assets, and provide feedback on the title's overall mix.

Skills:

  • Experience of designing sounds for interactive or linear media.
  • Proficient skills with modern studio hardware, editing and designing techniques, and software such as Reaper, ProTools, Sound Forge, Waves, IzoTope RX.
  • Desire to develop your game audio production, implementation, and engineering skills.
  • Outstanding "critical listening" skills.
  • Knowledge of audio middleware, e.g. WWISE, FMOD, Unreal, Unity are beneficial but not essential.
  • Knowledge of graphical audio programming, e.g. Reaktor, Max-MSP, Pure Data, is beneficial.

Eligibility:

  • You must be currently enrolled at university or education provider with a planned internship period planned into the education plan, (e.g. LiA)
  • You are eligible to work in Stockholm, Sweden, without the need for visa/relocation support
  • You are available to commence a full-time 6 month placement in January 2026.
