Job Description
- Experience working with conservative media or fast-paced talk/news formats.
- Manage day-to-day technical operations of the Boca Raton studio.
- Ensure all video, audio, lighting, networking, and communication systems are operational.
- Serve as Director of Photography for in-studio and field shoots.
- Design and execute lighting setups and direct multi-camera productions.
- Lead technical aspects of travel and remote shoots, including setup and gear management.
- Maintain and organize all production equipment, including inventory, repairs, and upgrades.
- Implement efficient workflows for recording, ingesting, archiving, and transferring footage.
- Ensure consistent quality control across all systems through calibration and troubleshooting.
- Act as technical point person, training staff and collaborating with the Nashville team.
- 5+ years of experience in live or recorded video production.
- Expert knowledge of camera systems (Sony, Canon, Blackmagic, RED, etc.).
- Expert knowledge of lighting instruments and audio signal flow (AVID, Pro Tools, Logic).
- Strong experience in multi-camera production and lighting design.
- Familiarity with video switching, routing, and monitoring systems (Blackmagic ATEM, Ross).
- Working knowledge of NLE systems (DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro) for basic editing.
- Proven ability to work independently on travel shoots, managing technical details.
- Ability to travel.
This person will be a hands-on leader responsible for high-quality production of all Boca-based programming—primarily The Ben Shapiro Show and related projects. This role oversees all technical operations, including studio and field production, file management, and remote setups.
The ideal candidate is a versatile production expert skilled in camera operation, lighting, audio, set management, and digital workflows. They’ll manage and maintain all production equipment, lead technical setups and breakdowns, and serve as the go-to problem solver for any studio or travel-related challenges.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day technical operations of the Boca Raton studio, ensuring all video, audio, lighting, networking, and communication systems are fully operational and properly configured
- Serve as Director of Photography for all in-studio and field shoots, designing and executing lighting setups, directing multi-camera productions, and collaborating with creative teams to achieve visual consistency and meet production standards.
- Lead all technical aspects of travel and remote shoots for The Ben Shapiro Show and other programming, including location scouting, mobile studio setup, gear management, and seamless coordination between studio and remote environments
- Maintain and organize all production equipment, overseeing inventory, repairs, upgrades, and vendor relations while implementing efficient workflows for recording, ingesting, archiving, and transferring footage
- Ensure consistent quality control across all cameras, lighting, and audio systems through regular calibration and proactive troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Act as the technical point person for the Boca studio, training and supporting technical staff and freelancers, and collaborating with the Nashville team to maintain unified standards and workflows across all production locations
Experience & Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in live or recorded video production, ideally within a broadcast or digital media studio environment
- Experience working with conservative media or fast-paced talk/news formats is a plus!
- Expert knowledge of camera systems (Sony, Canon, Blackmagic, RED, etc.), lighting instruments, and audio signal flow incl AVID systems, Pro Tools, and Logic
- Strong experience in multi-camera production and lighting design for both studio and field environments
- Familiarity with video switching, routing, and monitoring systems (e.g., Blackmagic ATEM, Ross, etc.)
- Working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, or other NLE systems for basic editing and troubleshooting
- Proven ability to work independently on travel shoots, managing every technical detail from pre-production through delivery
- Ability to travel
