Job Description

Context of the position

As part of the development of our activities in the automotive sector, we are looking for a Thermal Simulation Engineer, working in the field of automotive lighting systems (headlights).

You will participate in the thermal design of electronic boards via simulation, while playing a major role in the technical coordination of offshore work, mainly with an R&D center in China.

Main missions

🔧 Technical activities (≈ 20%)

• Performing thermal calculations on embedded electronic components (notably PCBs) integrated into headlights.
• Use of the FloEFD (Mentor Graphics) simulation tool integrated into Creo.
• Analysis and interpretation of thermal simulation results (temperatures, flux, dissipation).
• Proposals for thermal optimizations in conjunction with design teams.

🌍 Technical piloting (≈ 80%)

• Participation in defining and updating the planning of thermal simulations for products;
• Coordination of thermal simulation work carried out offshore, mainly with teams based in China.
• Validation of models and results delivered by partners.
• Interface between design teams (France) and simulation teams (China).
• Participation in technical reviews, drafting reports and monitoring actions.
• Management of deliverable planning and guarantee of the technical quality of the work.

Qualifications

🎓 Education

• Graduate of an engineering school with a specialization in thermal / energy / fluid mechanics, ideally from the following schools: ISAE-ENSMA (Poitiers) / ESIREIMS / Polytech Nantes / Institut Supérieur Galilée / etc.

✅ Technical skills

• Good skills in thermal transfers (conduction, convection, radiation) - Validation of simulation reports
• Proficiency or strong interest in thermal simulation tools such as FloEFD, FloTHERM, Fluent or equivalents.
• Knowledge of the embedded electronics / automotive lighting field is a plus.
• Meshing & Product/Process Design 2D / 3D

🧩 Cross-functional skills

• Experience in technical project management or offshore team coordination.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, analytical mind, ability to work cross-functionally.
• Good level of professional English, both written and spoken (daily exchanges with offshore).
