We’re FuturLab, the award-winning game studio behind PowerWash Simulator, the Velocity series, Peaky Blinders Mastermind, and many more awesome games. 

We’re looking for a Backend Developer with 2-3 years experience in designing and implementing microservices, hosted in a cloud environment such as AWS or Azure. 

You’ll be working in a small agile team, along with a Frontend Developer and DevOps Engineer to create new features to support titles running on PC, VR and consoles. Get involved in the award-winning global hit PowerWash Simulator and other exciting new projects! 

Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Working with the team lead to design, scope, and implement features in an agile, iterative release approach 
  • Collaborating closely with Frontend Developer to define API contracts, request/response models, etc. 
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to manage deployments through development environments, and to production 
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting environments as and when issues arise 
  • Proactively seeking improvements to existing systems 
  • Sharing knowledge with team members, contributing to code reviews, and keeping documentation up to date and relevant 

Requirements

  • Designing and implementing RESTful services at scale, written in Java, C#, Node.js, Go, etc. 
  • Experience working with Docker/Containers and orchestration tools like Kubernetes 
  • Unit and Load Testing for web applications (JMeter, k6, gatling.io) 
  • Working with SQL and NoSQL database types, and caching (i.e. Redis) 
  • Production level experience working with Cloud Providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) 
  • Building CI/CD pipelines and maintaining runners (GitLab, Jenkins, TeamCity) 
  • Designing and scaling event-driven systems 
  • Use of monitoring and alerting tools (Datadog, Prometheus, etc.)  

 

Desirable: 

  • Experience with 3rd Party providers such as PlayFab, GameSparks, Heroic Labs, or Epic Online Services 
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-code tools 
  • Experience working with Windows based development environments
