Job Description

Reach Game Studios is seeking Concept Artists to join their art department for the upcoming FPS RPG, GLORY. This role involves translating designer concepts into 2D art for characters, creatures, environments, weapons, and armor. The artist will also collaborate with the 3D team to ensure designs are practical for in-game implementation. The position is a contract royalty-based role with potential for full-time employment post-launch.
Good To Have:
  • Familiarity with the concept art pipeline for interactive entertainment.
  • A passion for videogames, science fiction, RPGs, and/or shooters.
Must Have:

  • High degree of familiarity with software such as Photoshop.
  • Understanding design principles and methodologies for concept art.

Reach Game Studios is looking for concept artists to join the art department and bring ideas to life for the studio's upcoming FPS RPG, GLORY.

Responsibilities:

As a concept artist you will be responsible for:

  • Translating concepts from designers into 2D art designs, including characters and creatures, environments, weapons and armour, and other concepts as required.
  • Work with the 3D team to design concepts that are practical and useful to those artists.

Requirements:

For this role we are looking for:

  • A great showreel or portfolio of concept art in a variety of art style, including sketching, colouring, inking, etc. (No prior shipped are required for this position.)
  • Familiarity of the concept art pipeline for interactive entertainment preferred but not essential.
  • High degree of familiarity with software such as Photoshop, etc.
  • Understand design principles and methodologies, particularly with regards to concept art and how it ultimately becomes in-game art.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent team-working and leadership skills.
  • A passion for videogames, science fiction, RPGs, and/or shooters preferred.

Remuneration:

The position is currently a contract royalty-based position, with view to full-time employment post-launch. Contract amount is competitive and negotiable.

Location:

While we prioritize Australian/New Zealand applicants, we are a remote studio and consider international applications.
