We are expanding connected technologies and autonomous driving technologies that connect with the cloud and smartphones to provide more convenient and safer services to customers who use automobiles.
This will be carried out amidst the evolution of vehicles as SDVs and the systems surrounding them, and this role will play an important part in formulating future strategies and designing components for connected car devices to achieve this.
Furthermore, you will be involved in the development of communication units (TCU: Telematics Control Unit) that connect to the outside of the vehicle, realizing advanced in-vehicle services and autonomous driving by utilizing communication technology.
Main functions of TCU
- Remote actuator: Start air conditioning or lock doors wirelessly from the customer's smartphone.
- Stolen vehicle tracking function: Locate the vehicle using GPS and utilize it for anti-theft measures.
- Driving support linkage: Link with navigation and traffic information to support driving.
- Wi-Fi hotspot function: Transform the car interior into a Wi-Fi space capable of connecting to the internet.
- Emergency call function: Automatically make emergency calls in the event of a car accident to assist rescue operations.
- OTA update: Update software wirelessly to improve functions and fix bugs.
- Automatic map data update: Provide the latest navigation information in real-time.
- Remote diagnosis: Check vehicle status remotely to enable preventive maintenance and early response.
- Vehicle information provision service: Visualize information such as driving history, fuel efficiency, and vehicle status.
You will be assigned to one of the following responsibilities:
- Product design of IVC (In Vehicle Connectivity) based on service requirements and system requirements.
- Advanced development of next-generation mobile communication technologies represented by V2X and satellite communication.
- Communication specification development with mobile carriers.
- Antenna development for 4G/5G, GNSS, FM/AM, satellite radio, etc.
- Productivity, function/performance/reliability evaluation.
- Cross-functional management tasks such as human resources, equipment, and budget.
A department with 300 members, with each section having about 20 members, and a high ratio of mid-career hires. We are responsible for both mass production development and advanced development, and the workplace has an active discussion atmosphere. There are many opportunities for communication with connected-related departments within the company, as well as overseas bases and overseas suppliers.

You can be involved in the product design of the core part of connected cars that connect the car to the outside, and challenge yourself to create new value by installing continuously evolving communication technologies such as 4G/5G in cars.
You can acquire design skills that view various in-vehicle ECUs and the cloud including mobile networks as a system, advanced technical knowledge through product development of components supporting the system, and not only English communication skills necessary in a global environment but also excellent business communication skills due to the wide range of stakeholders involved.

- Annual salary range: Monthly salary (reference value) 323,000 JPY - 439,000 JPY
- *The total amount will be determined comprehensively based on experience and expertise.
- Estimated annual income (reference value) approx. 5,900,000 JPY - 7,800,000 JPY
- Monthly salary x 12 months + bonus (estimated value)
- Bonus amount is a reference value, and actual payment timing, amount, and payment conditions will be determined separately.
