Job Description

This role involves identifying new business opportunities, particularly in C4ISTAR and Cyber domains for the Swiss Army, and driving sales of complex software and hardware solutions. The Key Account Manager will coordinate internal and external partners, prepare offers, lead bid teams, negotiate contracts, and present products at events. The ideal candidate has a background in economics or engineering, extensive military experience as a staff or general staff officer, sales experience in defense or IT, a strong customer network, and excellent communication skills.
Good To Have:
  • Experience in sales in the defense industry or IT environment.
Must Have:
  • Identify and evaluate potential business areas, especially in the C4ISTAR and Cyber domains of the Swiss Army.
  • Drive the sale of innovative software and hardware solutions and associated services.
  • Coordinate collaboration between internal and external partners to successfully position campaigns.
  • Responsible for developing tailored offers, leading bid teams, and conducting contract negotiations.
  • Present products and solutions competently at customer and industry events.
  • Support specialist departments in product development by systematically preparing and providing customer information.
  • Successfully completed studies, preferably with a focus on economics or engineering.
  • Extensive military experience as a staff officer or general staff officer or sound knowledge of the Swiss Ministry of Defense.
  • Established and proven network of customers and partners, with high customer orientation.
  • Dynamic, results-oriented, strong strategic thinking, and technical affinity to quickly grasp complex products and solutions.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, and a convincing team player.

Your Mission

  • Exploring new business opportunities: You identify and evaluate potential business areas, especially in the C4ISTAR and Cyber domains of the Swiss Army, and actively contribute to business development.
  • Sales of complex products and services: You drive the sale of our innovative software and hardware solutions as well as the associated services, with a special focus on the C4ISTAR and Cyber areas.
  • You coordinate collaboration between internal and external partners to successfully position our campaigns and systematically strengthen the Thales brand.
  • Offer creation and contract negotiations: You are responsible for developing tailored offers, leading bid teams, and conducting contract negotiations.
  • Product and solution presentations: You competently present our products and solutions at customer and industry events and represent us at relevant conferences and trade fairs.
  • Involvement in product development: By systematically preparing and providing customer information, you support the specialist departments in the further development of our products.

What we look forward to

  • Education and Expertise: You have successfully completed studies, preferably with a focus on economics or engineering, and bring sound specialist knowledge in these areas.
  • Military Background: You have extensive military experience as a staff officer or general staff officer or possess sound knowledge of the Swiss Ministry of Defense. Would you now like to use your military career and strategic thinking in a technology company?
  • Ideally, you already have experience in sales in the defense industry or in the IT environment and are familiar with the challenges and opportunities of this sector.
