Haleon, a global leader in consumer healthcare, is seeking a Line Mechanic for its Montreal plant. This full-time, permanent role involves ensuring the efficient and safe operation of packaging lines, performing product changeovers, and adjusting equipment according to production schedules. The successful candidate will troubleshoot breakdowns, execute work orders in SAP, and contribute to continuous improvement. This position requires strong mechanical troubleshooting and computer skills, with a focus on maintaining high standards in a complex regulatory environment.
Must have:
  • Ensure efficient and safe setup and operation of packaging lines.
  • Perform product changeovers and adjust equipment according to standards.
  • Conduct in-process packaging controls.
  • Implement improvements to enhance line efficiency.
  • Inspect critical parts for wear and replace as needed.
  • Execute and close work orders in SAP.
  • Intervene during breakdowns, explain causes, and propose preventive actions.
  • Maintain setup sheets.
  • Perform tasks as per standard work to ensure smooth line operation and teamwork.
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Knowledge of various OHS aspects (lockout/tagout, etc.).

Haleon is a manufacturing site for liquid, solid, and semi-solid health products, with complex regulatory factors, technical processes, and high-risk activities. Haleon is currently looking for a Line Mechanic to join the Montreal (Saint-Laurent) team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the setup and efficient and safe operation of our packaging lines;
  • Perform product changeovers on the lines, prepare and adjust equipment according to standard times, in accordance with the production schedule, assembly instructions, and packaging instructions;
  • Perform certain in-process packaging controls;
  • Be able to make improvements on their line to increase its efficiency;
  • Check the condition (signs of wear) of critical parts on the line and change them as needed when required;
  • Execute work orders within their field of expertise and be able to close them in the SAP system;
  • Be able to intervene when there are breakdowns or failures and explain the causes and preventive actions to avoid recurrence;
  • Responsible for maintaining setup sheets;
  • In operation, perform required tasks, as described by standard work, to ensure smooth line operation and good teamwork.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • DEP/DEC Industrial mechanics, electrotechnician or electromechanics;
  • Experience on pharmaceutical, agri-food, industrial packaging lines (ideal);
  • Essential French language;
  • Good team player, fast learner;
  • Good mechanical troubleshooting skills;
  • Good computer skills;
  • Knowledge of vision system is a plus (EXA, Systech).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of GMP;
  • Knowledge of various OHS aspects (lockout/tagout…).
