Job Description

The Proposal/Bid Specialist will be responsible for managing and coordinating proposals and presentations aligned with client requirements and company branding in response to RFPs. They will develop and drive internal work plans based on external deadlines, collaborate with subject matter experts to draft responses, and ensure internal procedures are followed. The role requires project management experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage competing deadlines. The specialist will also manage master documents through multiple rounds of edits and ensure that projects are completed successfully. This role is hybrid, requiring at least three days a week in the office.
Must have:
  • Project manage proposals and presentations for client RFPs.

  • Draft responses to proposal questions with experts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Good to have:
  • Experience working in a Mercer line of business.

Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Sales Enablement team at Mercer. This role will be based in Lisbon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We will count on you to:

  • Project manage proposals/presentations aligned with client requirements and company branding in order to respond to client RFPs (Requests For Proposals);
  • Develop/drive internal work plans based on external deadlines — and hold pursuit teams accountable;
  • Research/draft responses to proposal questions in collaboration with subject matter experts;
  • Own master documents and incorporate multiple rounds of edits through completion;
  • Ensure internal procedures and best practices are followed for each project.

What you need to have: 

  • A degree in any business, marketing or communications related field;
  • 1 to 2 years of project management experience;
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (C2).
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end pursuit lifecycle and strength on project management, writing and editing skills;
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities;
  • Close attention to detail, without losing sight of the bigger picture;
  • Comfort with ambiguity and frequent change;

  • Experience working in a Mercer line of business (Benefits, Investments, Pensions, HR consulting);
  • Prior project management experience with RFI/RFP/DDQs, regardless of industry;
  • A thirst for knowledge and passion for trying new things;
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Qvidian, QorusDocs, or online bid procurement tools (such as Ariba).
