LikeCard Group is seeking a highly qualified and bilingual Senior Legal Counsel to lead the Group's legal operations. The role involves ensuring compliance with laws and regulations across jurisdictions and providing expert legal guidance to senior management. Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and managing legal documents, coordinating with external counsel, and maintaining legal documentation for all LikeCard entities. The position requires fluency in Arabic and English, with in-depth legal knowledge of the GCC and broader Middle East region. Key objectives include providing strategic legal advice, ensuring regulatory compliance, developing a centralized legal documentation system, clarifying legal language for business units, and mitigating legal risks.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB)
  • Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken)
  • Minimum 8 years of legal experience
  • At least 5 years in corporate legal advisory
  • Extensive knowledge of Middle East legal practices (GCC)
  • Experience handling litigation
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with corporate, commercial, labor, tax, data privacy laws
  • Ability to manage multi-jurisdictional legal matters
  • Strong communication and crisis management skills
Good to have:
  • Master’s degree or equivalent
  • Previous experience in e-commerce, fintech, or technology sectors (KSA & UAE)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience managing legal operations independently
  • Experience in creating document retention systems
  • Strategic thinker with problem-solving capabilities
  • High level of discretion and integrity

Position Summary:


LikeCard Group is seeking a highly qualified and bilingual Senior Legal Counsel to lead the Group's legal operations, ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations across jurisdictions, and provide expert legal guidance to senior management and business teams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and managing legal documents, coordinating with external counsel, and maintaining proper legal documentation across all LikeCard entities. This position requires fluency in Arabic and English, with in-depth legal knowledge of the GCC and broader Middle East region.


Key Objectives:

  • Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to the Group’s leadership.

  • Ensure LikeCard entities comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and maintain a centralized legal documentation system across all entities.

  • Support all business units by clarifying legal language and implications.

  • Mitigate legal risks and support the business in complex legal matters.


Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and manage all legal contracts and agreements.

  • Establish and maintain a legal file/documentation system for each entity under the LikeCard Group.

  • Liaise with external counsel and supervise litigation when necessary.

  • Review business and tax strategies for legal risk and compliance.

  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations, especially within the GCC.

  • Lead the negotiation of agreements and settlements.

  • Develop legal templates, policies, and procedures for business operations.

  • Ensure corporate governance and regulatory filings are completed accurately and on time.

  • Provide legal training and updates to management and business teams.



Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); Master’s degree or equivalent is a plus.

  • Bilingual – Fluent in Arabic and English (both written and spoken).

  • Minimum 8 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a corporate legal advisory role.

  • Extensive knowledge of legal practices and compliance in the Middle East, especially GCC.

  • Demonstrated experience handling litigation and working with outside legal counsel.

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.

  • Familiarity with corporate, commercial, labor, tax, and data privacy laws.

  • Ability to manage multiple legal matters across jurisdictions.

  • Strong communication and crisis management skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in e-commerce, fintech, or technology sectors (KSA & UAE).

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage legal operations independently.

  • Experience in creating and managing document retention systems.

  • Strategic thinker with problem-solving capabilities.

  • High level of discretion and integrity.
