Job Description

The Software Engineer is part of the Solutions and Services department, responsible for implementing and post-implementation services according to contractual specifications, market best practices, and internal guidelines, with a strong customer focus. This role acts as a technical contact for software and databases during CAD 911 support phases and potential expansions, ensuring correct software solution implementation and mediating between the client and Motorola support. It involves translating client requirements into technical specifications, auditing implementation, and collaborating with hardware IT engineers. During support, the role creates and monitors guidelines for optimal software and database operation, escalating issues to the vendor if necessary, in a mission-critical environment.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
  • Knowledge in networks, firewalls, servers, WAN, LAN, and PC platforms.
  • IT certifications like VMware, Microsoft Administration.
  • Monitoring or support of network protocols: VPN, MPLS, VoIP, SIP, SNMP.
  • Experience in administering Microsoft CRM solutions, antivirus, and backup.
  • Experience in network monitoring with Nagios, Zabbix, Solarwinds, Federos, PagerDuty.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Remedy, iTOP, or other ITSM platforms.

Job Description

You will act as the technical point of contact for software and databases during the CAD 911 support phases and potential expansions. You will ensure the correct implementation of the software solution, acting as an intermediary between the client and the Motorola support team. You will translate client requirements into technical specifications to deliver to the provider and audit the implementation. Teamwork is essential to work with hardware IT engineers where solutions will be installed locally.

During the support phase, you will create and supervise guidelines to ensure optimal software and database operation, being the point of contact for escalating software and database issues. If necessary, you will escalate issues to the provider. This position will be primarily responsible for software and databases, which will operate in a mission-critical environment.

Scope of Responsibilities

Technical responsible for ensuring the CAD product lifecycle at the client, in relation to the core IT subsystems. Supports client activations and is responsible for configuration adjustments as needed for management acceptance tests. Contributes IT knowledge to the project team, supporting or interacting with the client support manager, client technical counterparts, and vendor IT experts. Ensures that configurations meet client expectations, as well as industry and product standards. Responsible for accurate management of administrative system data records.

Responsible for the administration and configuration of software and databases using a complete set of skills, which includes experience primarily in Windows Server OS, Linux, SQL Server, and others such as PBX and networks. Experience with SSRS is highly valued. Knowledge in networks, firewalls, servers, WAN, LAN, and PC platforms.

Basic Requirements

  • This position works 100% from the city of Santa Fe, during administrative hours from Monday to Friday, with 24/7 rotating on-call shifts.
  • Bachelor's or related Engineering degree.
  • Intermediate English proficiency, in all skills.
  • More than 3 years of related studies or work experience.
  • Troubleshooting experience.
  • Database management experience is valued: SQL Server, SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
  • IT certifications such as VMware, Microsoft Administration or others are valued.
  • Monitoring or support of network protocols: VPN, MPLS, VoIP, SIP, SNMP.
