Sr. Cloud Engineer

Onward Search is a specialized staffing and talent solutions company that helps professionals find top jobs with the nation’s leading brands. We’re hiring a Sr. Cloud Engineer for a hybrid opportunity. This is a 6-month contract role with a global hospitality leader.

Sr. Cloud Engineer Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and optimize multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Lead Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development with Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments.
• Monitor and optimize cloud spending, applying FinOps principles.
• Enforce cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
• Troubleshoot complex issues, providing Tier 3 support.
• Mentor junior cloud engineers and document best practices.

Sr. Cloud Engineer Qualifications:

• 7+ years’ experience with cloud technologies in multi-cloud or hybrid environments.
• Expertise in AWS and GCP (Azure a plus).
• Proficiency in Terraform, CloudFormation, and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Strong experience with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on with cloud networking (VPC, load balancers, Route 53, Direct Connect, VPN, Transit Gateways, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to manage cloud spend with FinOps practices.
