Job Description

Tic Toc Games is seeking a UI Designer to help guide our game’s user experience through creating HUD and Popup mockups, as well as final game-ready assets. The candidate will also maintain the game’s visual identity, uphold brand identity, and be responsible for marketing graphics and promotional images. Key responsibilities include guiding user experience, creating mockups with industry-standard tools, collaborating with various teams, iterating on feedback, and optimizing 2D assets for implementation.
Good To Have:
  • Experience in creating storyboard animatics, motion graphics, and particle FX.
  • Strong 2D and 3D fundamentals.
  • Experience in Unity UGUI/asset integration.
  • Passion for casual games (mobile, console, PC).
Must Have:
  • Guide the user experience of the game with intention and visual hierarchy.
  • Create HUD and Popup mockups, and final game-ready assets.

  • Create and optimize final polished 2D assets with detailed spec annotations.
  • Collaborate with tech artists and engineers for UI implementation.
  • Manage component assets and style guides in an organized design library.
  • Experience in developing games or software for mobile platforms.
  • Expert knowledge of the Adobe suite.
  • Possess a good understanding of touch-based mobile games and relevant gaming/design trends.
  • Strong graphic design skills (typography, color theory, iconography, illustrations, composition).
  • Understand visual hierarchy and create cohesive player experiences.
  • Work in an agile team environment and communicate effectively.
  • Be aware of technical limitations in design solutions.
  • Be iterative and open to feedback and constructive criticism.
  • Proficiency with Photoshop and/or Illustrator, Google Docs/Slides.
  • Prototype and share designs with ProtoPie, Invision, or Figma-compatible software.

The candidate will also maintain the game’s visual identity, as well as uphold brand identity. The candidate is also responsible for marketing graphics and promotional images.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide the user experience of the game with intention: What information is key for players to understand and where does it fall in the screen’s visual hierarchy?
  • Use industry standard design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator) to create low and high fidelity mockups.
  • Collaborate with lead designers, art directors, product managers, and UX designers to create a consistent visual language with high quality aesthetic appeal.
  • Iterate as needed to address feedback coming from team members & stakeholders.
  • Solve complex design problems with clear and concise solutions.
  • Create simple visual mockups to translate UX designs to stakeholders.
  • Create and optimize final polished 2D assets with detailed spec annotations for asset handoff.
  • Collaborate with tech artists and engineers to ensure implementation of UI hits visual targets.
  • Consistently update & manage your component assets and style guides in an organized design library.

Requirements:

  • Experience in developing games or software for mobile platforms
  • Understanding of Figma, Adobe XD, or comparable design program
  • Expert knowledge of the Adobe suite
  • Possess a good understanding of touch-based mobile games and keep up with relevant gaming/design trends
  • Understand the player’s desires and needs and address them with unbiased and beautifully executed UI solutions
  • Strong graphic design skills used to articulate your designs through a creative use of typography, color theory, iconography, illustrations, and composition
  • Understand the visual hierarchy of a given screen, and create a cohesive experience for the player via color choices and rendering styles
  • Work in an agile team environment; communicate effectively with all development disciplines: programming, art, design, and production
  • Be aware of possible technical limitations and take them into account when coming up with your design solutions
  • Be iterative; not afraid of feedback and constructive criticism; able to take directions well
  • Proficiency with Photoshop and/or Illustrator, Google Docs/Slides
  • Prototype and share your designs with ProtoPie, Invision, or any Figma-compatible prototyping software

Pluses

  • Experience in creating storyboard animatics, motion graphics, and particle FX
