Job Summary

As a 3D Artist at Beyond Sports, you will create and implement visual assets for E-sports experiences, collaborating with developers and senior artists. Responsibilities include creating large environments using modular approaches, modeling assets in Blender, and setting them up in Unity. You will ensure assets are efficient, refining PBR materials, optimizing meshes, and organizing the asset library to bring visual concepts to life in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

Must Have

  • Create and implement high-quality visual assets for E-sports experiences
  • Collaborate with developers and senior artists

  • Solid portfolio showcasing 3D modeling and implementation skills
  • Strong grasp of PBR workflows
  • Experience implementing assets (meshes, animations, materials)
  • Experience optimizing game assets for performance (GPU and CPU)
  • Ability to create environments via modular/kit-bash approaches
  • Ability to identify errors and fix asset issues within the engine
  • Living in the Netherlands and eligible to work in the EU

Good to Have

  • Experience with Unreal Engine
  • Good understanding of lighting in Unity

Hi, I’m Michael Visser, Head of the Studio team here at Alkmaar, and I’m excited to invite you to consider joining us as a 3D Artist.

What Your Day Will Look Like

As a 3D Artist, you’ll play a vital role in creating and implementing the visual assets that drive our E-sports experiences. You will be responsible for creating high-quality art assets and ensuring they work seamlessly within the game engine.

Each day, you’ll collaborate with developers and senior artists to deliver exciting art features. You’ll be hands-on: creating large environments using modular approaches, modeling assets in Blender, and setting them up in Unity.

You will work to ensure our assets are efficient and reliable. Whether you are refining PBR materials, optimising meshes for better performance, or organizing the asset library for the rest of the team, you’ll be an essential part of bringing our visual concepts to life.

This role is based on-site at our Alkmaar office (32–40 hours per week). You’ll need to be living in the Netherlands and eligible to work in the EU.

Tech Stack and Skill Requirements

You don’t need to tick every box, but here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Experience: 2-3 years in Unity (Unreal is a plus) and 2+ years in Blender.
  • Portfolio: A solid portfolio showcasing your 3D modeling and implementation skills.
  • Core Skills: Strong grasp of PBR workflows and experience implementing assets (meshes, animations, materials).
  • Optimisation: Experience optimising game assets for performance (GPU and CPU).
  • Environment Art: Ability to create environments via modular/kit-bash approaches.
  • Troubleshooting: Ability to identify errors and fix asset issues within the engine.
  • Bonus: A good understanding of lighting in Unity.
  • Note: Knowledge and love for sports is not required!
