Emerald City Games is looking for a 3D Artist to join their team. The role involves collaborating with art directors, modeling and texturing in various styles, participating in art reviews, and using software like Photoshop, Unity, 3D Coat, After Effects, and Zbrush. The ideal candidate should be proficient in 3D packages such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max, experienced in creating high-poly models in Zbrush, and proficient in texturing packages such as Substance Painter and traditional 3D texturing techniques with Photoshop. The role also involves understanding anatomy, translating concepts into 3D characters and environments, and excellent communication skills. Must have:

Job Details

Emerald City Games is a collection of the best designers, developers and artists, and we’re looking for an awesome 3D Artist to join our team!

Someone that has a good work ethic, attitude and wants to work on great games with great people.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with art directors and concept artists to help create and maintain our high visual standards

  • Modeling and texturing in 3D, working in a variety of styles: low poly, high poly, fantasy, and sci-fi

  • Taking part in regular art reviews and discussions

  • Working in Photoshop, Unity, 3D Coat, After Effects and Zbrush

  • Developing games that you yourself would want to play!

Technical Requirements:

  • Proficient in a 3D packages including: Maya, Blender or 3d Studio Max

  • Experienced in creating high poly models in Zbrush

  • Proficient in texturing packages such as Substance Painter

  • Traditional 3D texturing techniques with Photoshop

  • Proficient in Unity and/or Unreal 4+

Other Skills (Characters):

  • Strong understanding of anatomy

  • Ability to translate concepts into fully realized characters/creatures in 3D ready for animation

  • Understand and meticulous in preparing game ready models with proper edge flow and loops, consider geometry for optimization, rigging and animation

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to manage and switch between different projects and adapt to different art styles.

Other Skills (Environment):

  • Strong architectural sense, scale and details

  • Ability to translate concepts into fully realized environments

  • Understand and is meticulous in preparing game ready models

  • Excellent communication skills
