Job Summary

As an Associate Director of Environments at Beenox, an Activision studio, you will facilitate operational, human, and technical aspects within the environment development team. You will support the Director of Environments in management and monitoring, enabling strategic product oversight. Your leadership will inspire teams to create AAA content for Activision franchises, ensuring deliverables meet artistic and creative direction, optimizing production pipelines, and resolving technical issues.

Must Have

  • Ensure deliverables and components are executed according to the production plan and artistic/creative direction.
  • Optimize production pipelines by collaborating with different internal departments.
  • Clarify technical questions and resolve production-slowing issues.
  • Facilitate communication between production, departments, and your team.
  • Actively participate in project planning, priority setting, and review sessions.
  • Ensure your team receives necessary training and promote skill unification and elevation.
  • Hold regular individual meetings with each team member.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of your team.
  • Write and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Approve schedules and timesheets.
  • 10 years or more of professional experience within an art department in the video game industry.
  • Ability to design 3D environments in high and low resolution.
  • Solid understanding of video game technical constraints and strong interest in video games.
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices and navigation metrics in the Call of Duty universe.
  • Fluency in French and English.

About the Role

As an Associate Director of Environments, you will be involved at several levels within the environment development team. You will act as a facilitator on operational, human, and technical levels, while maintaining a high level of expertise in your field.

Your role will also be to support and collaborate with the Director of Environments, taking charge of certain management and monitoring aspects. This will allow you to support your team daily and contribute to the management having a greater strategic reach on the product.

Your sense of leadership will inspire your teams to excel and produce the AAA material necessary for Activision franchises.

Requirements

  • 10 years or more of professional experience within an art department in the video game industry.
  • Ability to design 3D environments in high and low resolution.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Good artistic sense, attention to detail, and ease in constructive criticism.
  • Solid understanding of video game technical constraints and strong interest in video games.
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices and navigation metrics in the Call of Duty universe.
  • Vision and sense of spaces allowing to create credible and interesting places for players.
  • Great work organization skills, ability to manage multiple tasks at once, and to delegate.
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Ability to adapt in a constantly evolving work environment.
