As Associate Environment Director at Beenox, an Activision studio, you will facilitate the Environment Development team operationally, humanly, and technically. You will support the Environment Art Director by managing and monitoring tasks, ensuring deliverables meet production plans and artistic direction. Your role involves optimizing pipelines, resolving technical issues, fostering communication, and actively participating in project planning and reviews. You will also be responsible for team training, performance evaluations, recruitment, and inspiring your team to produce AAA content for Activision franchises.

Job Description

About the role

As Associate Environment Director, you will be involved in several aspects of the Environment Development team. You will act as a facilitator at the operational, human, and technical levels, while maintaining a high degree of expertise in your field.

Your role will also be to support and collaborate with the Environment Art Director, taking charge of certain management and monitoring tasks. This will allow you to support your team on a daily basis and help management have a greater strategic impact on the product.

Your leadership skills will inspire your teams to excel in order to produce the AAA material needed for Activision franchises.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that deliverables and components are executed by your team according to the production plan and the artistic and creative direction.
  • Ensure the optimization of production pipelines by collaborating with various internal departments.
  • Clarify technical questions from your employees and resolve issues that slow down production.
  • Facilitate communication between production, other departments, and your team.
  • Actively participate in project planning, priority setting, and review sessions.
  • Ensure that your team receives the necessary training and promote the unification and development of skills.
  • Hold regular one-on-one meetings with each member of your team.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of your team.
  • Write and conduct performance reviews.
  • Approve schedules and timesheets.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience in an art department in the video game industry.
  • Ability to design high- and low-resolution 3D environments.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Good artistic sense, attention to detail, and ability to receive constructive criticism.
  • Solid understanding of the technical constraints of video games and a keen interest in video games.
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices and navigation metrics in the Call of Duty universe.
  • Vision and sense of space allowing you to create believable and interesting locations for players.
  • Strong work organization skills, capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ability to delegate.
  • Ease of communication in French and English.
  • Ability to adapt to a constantly changing work environment.
