Job Summary
BOLD is seeking a Big Data Engineer to expand and optimize data and data pipeline architecture, and optimize data flow and collection for cross-functional teams. The Data Engineering department focuses on discovering patterns, creating predictive algorithms, improving data quality using machine learning, and distributing insights. The BigData team collaborates with other vertical teams on projects involving natural language processing and machine learning, such as resume parsing, ranking, and content generation.
Must Have
- 3+ years of work experience in big-data applications
- Expertise in Java, Python, Spark (PySpark / Scala)
- In-depth knowledge of Apache Spark (Core, SQL)
- Expertise in writing complex, optimized SQL queries
- Proficiency with Linux/Unix
- Understanding of workflow management components like Airflow or Oozie

Job Description
ABOUT THIS TEAM
The Data Engineering department at BOLD is responsible for discovering patterns and trends in datasets to get insights, creating predictive algorithms and data models, improving the quality of data or product offerings by utilizing machine learning techniques, distributing suggestions to other teams and top management, and using data tools such as Python and SQL.
The BigData team actively collaborates with other vertical teams such as Engineering, Portals, BI, Product, Legal. Most of the projects are focused around problems that require a mix of natural language processing and machine learning. Some of the active projects are resume parsing, ranking, summary generation, data quality and scoring, content generation, job recommendations, and conversion analysis. Apart from the business initiatives, the team also explores state of the art methods and keeps them upto to date with technology.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Work closely with leadership to define the long-term architectural approach for our growing big-data needs.
- Design, implement, and support, in cooperation with our architects and data scientists, a platform that can provide structured and ad-hoc access to large datasets.
- Help develop end-user features with Product and Development teams.
- Maintain and improve existing data-related functionality including logging, ETL pipelines, and business reporting.
- Translate business requirements and develop end to end solution.
- Develop and maintain end-to-end flow of data ingestion and data management pipelines on Data Lake.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
