Get to know the role
- Job Summary: The Capital Accountant will be responsible for the ongoing accounting for the organization and its subsidiaries’ leases, assets, and related financial activities.

What you’ll do
- Performs accounting for leased assets for the organization and its subsidiaries.
- Prepares periodic (monthly) journal entries to recognize lease accounting and fixed asset related transactions.
- Review, record, and update the lease software for any new or modified lease contracts.
- Review new contracts to assess them for embedded leases.
- Maintains the fixed asset register in the ERP.
- Record asset acquisitions, WIP, and asset disposals. Perform and document annual asset impairment testing.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant professional experience or a demonstrated equivalent level of expertise.
- Bachelor's degree in a Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting, lease accounting, and fixed asset accounting.
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proficient with accounting software. Crunchafi is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Proficient in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems such as Oracle Fusion Cloud is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 2 times per year domestically and internationally.
