Job Summary

A career within the Capital Projects and Infrastructure – Transactions team involves delivering innovative transaction solutions and providing advice and support to clients from start to finish. This role helps some of the world's largest companies and governments create value by analyzing data. The Infrastructure and Project Finance team assists public and private sector clients in financing, delivering, and managing projects profitably. As a Senior Associate, you will solve business issues, deliver high-quality client service, and support clients with procurement strategies, project structuring, financing, and negotiations.

Must Have

  • Draft reports and information documents of a financial nature, business cases and analyses related to various procurement methods
  • Take part in the development and review of complex financial models
  • Develop a holistic understanding of strategic planning, procurement and financial structuring of capital and infrastructure projects
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of various sectors such as transportation, health and energy
  • Support in building and reviewing governance structures and conducting PMO activities
  • Liaise between PwC and client’s teams
  • Understand and assess client needs to provide them with essential information for informed decisions
  • Advise clients on best practices in the management of capital and infrastructure projects, and support implementation
  • Contribute to the development of the CP&I practice and the PwC brand
  • Fluency in English and French
  • Relevant professional experience in major capital projects and infrastructure
  • Strong communication, presentation and writing skills
  • Proven technical and analytical capabilities including financial analysis and financial modelling skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Confidence, desire and ability to learn all aspects of infrastructure sectors in a short timeframe
  • A taste for teamwork, on complex and often demanding projects
  • A university degree in a relevant discipline (business, accounting, finance, procurement, law, engineering, political science, etc.)

Good to Have

  • A professional designation in finance (CFA, CBV) or in project management (PMP)

In short, we help some of the world's largest companies and governments across diverse industries create value. We analyze data to help our clients progress and maximize their value. Our Infrastructure and Project Finance team helps public and private sector clients finance, deliver and manage their projects profitably and efficiently. As a team member, you will assist our clients with procurement strategies, project structuring, financing and negotiations.

Meaningful work you’ll be part of

As a Capital Projects & Infrastructure Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Draft reports and information documents of a financial nature, business cases and analyses related to various procurement methods
  • Take part in the development and review of complex financial models
  • Develop a holistic understanding of the process of strategic planning, procurement and financial structuring of capital and infrastructure projects
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of various sectors such as transportation, health and energy.
  • Support in building and reviewing governance structures and conducting PMO activities
  • Liaise between PwC and client’s teams
  • Understand and assess client needs to provide them with information essential to making informed decisions
  • Advise clients on best practices in the management of capital and infrastructure projects, and support them in the implementation of these recommendations
  • Contribute to the development of the CP&I practice and the PwC brand

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve

  • The successful candidate requires fluency in English, in addition to French as they will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and/or stakeholders during the course of their employment with PwC Canada
  • A professional designation in finance (CFA, CBV) or in project management (PMP) will be considered an asset
  • Relevant professional experience in major capital projects and infrastructure
  • Strong communication, presentation and writing skills, including the ability to understand and effectively summarize complex documents
  • Proven technical and analytical capabilities including proven financial analysis and financial modelling skills (applied to infrastructure projects)
  • Flexibility and adaptability to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Confidence, desire and ability to learn all aspects of infrastructure sectors in a short timeframe
  • A taste for teamwork, on complex and often demanding projects
  • A university degree in a relevant discipline (business, accounting, finance, procurement, law, engineering, political science, etc.)
  • This role doesn’t support completion of the Canadian CPA designation
