You as part of tonies:

As Category Manager DACH (all genders), you play a key role in the successful analysis, management, and further development of our product range in retail – with the aim of maximizing sales and profitability.

You combine strategic thinking and data-based analysis with operational implementation to design the optimal assortment for our retail partners. You work closely with colleagues from Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, Trade Marketing, and Brand Communications.

Your job is to develop assortment and placement strategies that perfectly match our company goals and the needs of our retailers – and to accompany them from idea to implementation.

Your tasks include:

  • Assortment analysis and optimization: You evaluate sales figures, market trends, and shopper insights to identify growth opportunities and recognize risks early. Based on this, you develop recommendations for product selection, placement, pricing, and promotions.
  • In close coordination with Key Account Management, you ensure that the assortment meets the requirements of retailers and at the same time fits the overall brand strategy.
  • You monitor competitors, market prices, and consumer preferences to develop pricing strategies that maximize sales and profitability.
  • Together with Sales and Operations, you analyze the portfolio and coordinate inventory and forecast planning.
  • With the help of planograms and market data such as Circana or Nielsen, you ensure that shelf space is used efficiently and out-of-stocks are minimized.
  • You plan and manage products throughout their entire lifecycle, develop end-of-life and sales strategies, and keep the assortment current and attractive.
  • You continuously track relevant key figures such as OOS rate, sell-out growth, or distribution and derive concrete measures from them.

What we wish for from you:

  • You have at least three years of experience in Category Management, assortment planning, or merchandising, ideally in a consumer goods or retail environment.
  • Very good knowledge of MS Excel and Google Sheets (expert level).
  • Experience in using planogram software and market/shopper data (e.g., Circana, Nielsen).
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to derive clear recommendations from data.
  • High degree of initiative, hands-on mentality, and organizational talent, even in dynamic environments.
  • Enjoy collaborating with various interfaces and building long-term dealer relationships.

Why tonies?

  • Global Teamwork: We work together across departments and country borders on our vision to bring the Toniebox into every child's room in the world.
  • Come as you are: This applies not only to the dress code but also to everything else. Because only where you truly feel comfortable can you give your best.
  • Mobility: Choose the offer that suits you best – a Deutschlandticket Job for unlimited mobility, a monthly subsidy of fifty euros for an office parking space, a leasing bicycle, or as a remote work allowance.
  • Security: Benefit from subsidies for capital-forming benefits, a company pension scheme, and occupational disability insurance.
  • Rest & Time off: Enjoy 30 days of paid annual leave as well as three additional free days such as Rosenmontag, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve. After one year of employment, you can also use up to 10 "toniecation days" (unpaid leave days).
  • Continuous further training: Benefit from our internal and external training opportunities and an individual learning budget to continuously expand your knowledge.
  • Learning languages and relaxing made easy: Improve your communication skills with the Babbel language learning app and find relaxation through our access to the Calm meditation app.
