Job Description

Visual Concepts seeks a 3D Character Artist to contribute to the WWE 2K franchise. Responsibilities include designing and creating hyper-realistic WWE Superstars, developing costumes and accessories, sculpting, modeling, UV mapping, texturing, and building materials for AAA-quality characters. The role requires expertise in PBR workflows and real-time character pipelines. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in Zbrush, Substance Painter, and Maya, along with a deep understanding of rigging, articulation, and anatomy. The ideal candidate is a team player with excellent communication and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently and meeting deadlines.
Must have:
  • 2+ years game industry experience
  • Proficient in Zbrush, Substance Painter, Maya
  • Expertise in 3D character creation
  • Understanding of rigging & articulation
  • PBR workflow experience
  • Excellent communication & organization skills
Good to have:
  • Rigging and animation knowledge
  • Python/Mel Scripting

What We Need:

Our WWE studio is looking for a 3D Character Artist to contribute to the next iteration of the legendary WWE 2K franchise! You will report to the Lead Character Artist.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner with artists and team members to design and create hyper-realistic, iconic WWE Superstars for the latest installment of the WWE 2K series
  • Develop a wide range of costumes, accessories, and hairstyles to give players the ability to fully customize their own unique wrestlers
  • Sculpt, model, UV map, texture, and build materials for AAA-quality, photo-realistic characters and assets
  • Author materials using a PBR workflow, ensuring every detail stands out

Who Will Be A Great Fit:

  • 2+ years of proven experience in the games industry
  • Excellent Communication & Organizational Skills – You’re a team player who can manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Pro in 3D Character Creation – Expertise with tools like Zbrush, Substance Painter, Maya, and others to create stunning in-game assets
  • Strong Technical Skills – You’ve got experience with real-time character pipelines, UV management, and optimizing texture memory for best performance
  • Deep Understanding of Rigging & Articulation – You know how to create characters that deform realistically and maintain their structure in animation
  • Lifelong Learner – You’re passionate about staying on top of the latest tech, tools, and workflows in the gaming industry
  • Ability to follow guidelines, meet deadlines, and also thrive with minimal instruction when necessary
  • Expert in Anatomy & Photorealistic Texturing – with a solid understanding of human anatomy and can translate that into believable, high-quality textures
  • Love for video games (not just ours!)

Nice to Have:

  • Rigging and animation knowledge/skills
  • Python/Mel Scripting

 

 

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $73,820 and $98,400 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
