Job Description

The Technical Assembler will assemble, package, and label materials according to company or customer drawings and specifications. This role involves utilizing hand and power tools, inspecting components, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Responsibilities also include ensuring products are packaged for safe delivery and utilizing the Manufacturing System for time cards and material research. Work hours are 7 AM to 3 PM with a paid lunch.
Must have:
  • Assemble, package, and label materials according to company or customer drawings and specifications.
  • Utilize hand and power tools for assembly.
  • Inspect components and completed assemblies for conformity.
  • Exhibit safe work habits adhering to all PPE and OSHA requirements.
  • Report to work at scheduled time and be prepared to begin work.
  • Maintain housekeeping in work area and throughout the building.
  • Package product to ensure it will arrive to customer in acceptable condition.
  • Return all tools and equipment at the end of your shift.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and follow work instructions.
  • Ability to assemble product in accordance with customer or company drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to use torque wrench, calipers, and other miscellaneous measuring equipment.
  • Communication skills.
  • Ability to utilize Manufacturing System to scan time card and labor tickets and research availability of materials needed.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Mechanically inclined and have the ability to use hand and power tools to assemble product.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to become forklift certified.
  • Ability to utilize overhead crane to assist with moving parts.
Good to have:
  • Experience with shipping, receiving, and warehouse components.
  • High School graduate, or general education degree preferred.
  • Prior automotive experience.
  • Computer skills.

FLSA Status: Full time Non-Exempt

Summary:

  • Candidate must assemble, package, and label materials according to company or customer drawings and specifications to ship to their desired location.
  • Starting hourly rate for this position is $21 per hour, starting rate may vary DOE
  • Work hours for this role are 7AM to 3 PM, 30 minute paid lunch

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble components by utilizing hand and power tools.
  • Inspects components and completes assemblies for conformity. Follows all component handling procedures.
  • Exhibit safe work habits adhering to all PPE and OSHA requirements for assigned area.
  • Must report to work at scheduled time every day
  • Be in your work area and prepared to begin work at the start of your shift
  • Must maintain housekeeping in your work area and throughout the building.
  • Must be able to package product to ensure it will arrive to customer in acceptable condition.
  • Be sure all tools and equipment are returned at the end of your shift to maintain a clean and safe working environment for all.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Experience with shipping, receiving, and warehouse components are helpful but not required.
  • High School graduate, or general education degree preferred. Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and follow work instructions.
  • Ability to assemble product in accordance with customer or company drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to use torque wrench, calipers, and other miscellaneous measuring equipment.
  • Communication skills
  • Prior automotive experience helpful but not required.
  • Computer skills helpful but not required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have ability to utilize Manufacturing System to scan time card and labor tickets and research availability of materials needed.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Mechanically inclined and have the ability to use hand and power tools to assemble product
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a clean work environment
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Ability to become forklift certified
  • Ability to utilize overhead crane to assist with moving parts.

  • Employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Employee is regularly required to stand, lift, stoop, and walk for 5 hours at a time, without breaks.
  • Employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Employee must have the ability to work with their hands to lift and assemble product.
  • Employee is regularly required to walk for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Employee is regularly required to wear a safety shoes and safety glasses at all times. Must have the ability to wear hearing protection when in production areas that require it.
  • Employee is required to be on site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.
  • Requires daily face-to-face interaction with co-workers on production floor.

Work Environment: (The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.)

  • The employee will normally work on the production floor and may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. May occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and loud noise.
