Job Description

This exciting opportunity is for a Chief of CastBond Technology to lead the technical and operational development of an advanced turbine cooling system. The role involves being the overall technical authority across the supply chain, leading industrialization activities to ensure manufacturing meets Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery Rate, and Leadtime (SQCD) requirements. It includes leading a development center in Indianapolis with up to 40 technical and operational staff, overseeing all associated management processes.
Good To Have:
  • Experience in the governance and management of projects and/or programs/portfolio of increasing complexity.
  • Experience with technical and professional leadership of engineers.
  • Experience with complex manufacturing change (facility re-design, facility move, technology insertion & industrialization, new product introduction, process revalidation, quality improvement).
  • Led significant projects/activities across a range of manufacturing processes.
  • General awareness of Manufacturing Systems (CAD, CAM, CAPP, Manufacturing Execution System, Manufacturing Intelligence, SAP, Technical Publications, etc.).
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to their business.
Must Have:
  • Champion people and product safety, ensuring compliance to Health, Safety & Environmental Standards.
  • Deliver production readiness of new manufacturing capabilities or methods for CastBond products.
  • Create a culture of zero defects and ensure manufacturing processes support a right first time goal.
  • Specify Manufacturing Engineering and process requirements, and govern change management.
  • Integrate Manufacturing Technology, Digital Manufacturing and Product Introduction activities.
  • Program manage Manufacturing Engineering deliverables, report status, and resolve issues/risks.
  • Operate as a member of the global Manufacturing Technology leadership team.
  • Lead the technical & operational community, ensuring competences and promoting development.
  • Manage, develop and maintain business relationships with technology partners and suppliers.
  • Associate degree with 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, OR Bachelor's degree with 8+ years, OR Master's degree with 6+ years, OR PhD with 3+ years, OR 10+ years of manufacturing operations experience in lieu of engineering degree.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the CastBond team as Chief of Technology. As Chief of CastBond Technology, you will lead the technical & operational development activity of an advance turbine cooling system on behalf of the business. You will be the overall technical authority across the total supply chain and will lead all industrialization activities through technology readiness level 6 to ensure that the method of manufacture is capable of meeting the requirements of product and business in terms of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery Rate & Leadtime (SQCD). The role includes leadership of the development center located in Indianapolis, with a team of up to 40 technical and operational staff with accountability for all associated management processes.

What you will be doing:

  • Champion people and product safety ensuring that all manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture deployed within the business are in full compliance to Health, Safety & Environmental Standards
  • Deliver production readiness of new manufacturing capabilities or methods for CastBond products
  • Create a culture of zero defects within the organization and ensure that manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture are developed and deployed to support a right first time manufacturing goal
  • Specify Manufacturing Engineering and process requirements, and govern the change management of manufacturing processes for internal and external supply chain
  • Integrate Manufacturing Technology, Digital Manufacturing and Product Introduction activities within the business to ensure opportunities for improvement are realized
  • Program manage the achievement of Manufacturing Engineering deliverables, report status, and ensure issues and risks are resolved to meet project timescales.
  • Operate as a member of the global Manufacturing Technology leadership team, proactively supporting cross-Business collaboration, knowledge sharing, skills and process development to best utilize the available resources to deliver business needs and priorities.
  • Lead the technical & operational community within the team, ensuring required competences are in place and promoting the development and growth of the community through engagement and coaching team members, so that everyone can be at their best
  • Manage, develop and maintain business relationships with technology partners, joint ventures, risk and revenue sharing partners and other designated suppliers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate degree with 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, OR
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, OR
  • Master's degree with 6+ year of manufacturing engineering experience, OR
  • PhD with 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, OR
  • 10+ years of manufacturing operations experience in lieu of engineering degree.
  • To be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in the governance and management of projects and / or programs / portfolio of increasing complexity.
  • Experience with technical and professional leadership of engineers.
  • Experience with complex manufacturing change in a suitable combination of ways, such as facility re-design, facility move, technology insertion & industrialization, new product introduction, process revalidation, quality improvement.
