Job Description

JetBrains is seeking a Compliance Program Manager to join their expanding Compliance department. This role involves driving key compliance agendas such as sanctions, export controls, ABC, and competition. The manager will provide rapid, business-oriented support, mitigate regulatory and reputational risks, and ensure smooth, secure revenue flow for the global tech company. The position requires expertise in international trade compliance and a focus on operational excellence and collaboration across various departments.

  • Foster a cohesive compliance culture across different time zones.
  • Mentor colleagues on risks and resolve compliance questions.
  • Refine protocols and workflows, driving AI and automation adoption.
  • Provide expert input on strategic projects (M&A, partnerships, market expansion).
  • Identify material risks and advise senior stakeholders on mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with Legal, Sales, Procurement, Finance, Security, Product, Marketing, and HR teams.
  • Serve as the go-to escalation point for sensitive requests and transactions.
  • Coordinate with internal and external advisors on cross-border reviews.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in EU and US international trade compliance.
  • Understanding of the software industry, technology, and AI risks.
  • Pragmatic, agile mindset with a focus on enabling business.
  • Fluent English.

You will drive selected compliance agendas (sanctions, export controls, ABC, competition) and use your expertise to deliver rapid, business-oriented support while guarding against regulatory, fraud and reputational risk.

What you’ll do

Compliance excellence

  • Stay up-to-date on sanctions, export control, ABC, and competition regulations.
  • Foster a cohesive compliance culture across different time zones.
  • Mentor colleagues on the risks and resolve their compliance questions and issues.
  • Drive awareness and improvements, and foster self-service resources.

Operations and hands-on guidance

  • Continually refine protocols and workflows, driving the adoption of AI and automation and enabling data-driven improvements.
  • Provide expert input on strategic projects (M&A, partnerships, market expansion) and higher risk transactions (customers, due diligence, assessments, etc.).
  • Identify material risks and advise senior stakeholders on mitigation strategies.

Collaboration and influence

  • Work closely with the Legal, Sales, Procurement, Finance, Security, Product, Marketing, and HR teams.
  • Serve as the go-to escalation point for sensitive requests and transactions.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors on cross-border reviews and compliance initiatives.

What you bring

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in EU and US international trade compliance, ideally in a global tech or software environment.
  • An understanding of the software industry, technology, and AI risks and requirements.
  • A pragmatic, agile mindset with a focus on enabling business.
  • Fluent English – other languages are a bonus.
