YouTube's Trust & Safety team seeks a Content Specialist to enforce content policies, manage escalations of potentially questionable content globally, and utilize various tools and communication methods for issue resolution. Responsibilities include reviewing graphic and controversial video content, testing new processes, analyzing data for trends and improvements, and contributing to strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate possesses experience in content policy, data analysis, and excellent communication skills. This role requires proactive problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration to maintain a safe and positive user experience on the platform.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Content review/assessment experience
  • Data analysis & spreadsheet software skills
  • Enforce YouTube's content policies
  • Manage escalations, ensure high-quality enforcement
Good to have:
  • Experience in content policy, anti-abuse, online content review
  • Excellent problem-solving and data-driven strategy skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, cross-functional direction

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with reviewing or assessment of digital content.
  • Experience with data analysis and spreadsheet software.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in content policy, anti-abuse and reviewing online content.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive strategy and business action.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to direct cross-functionally at various levels.

Whether understanding and solving their online content concerns, navigating within global legal frameworks, or writing and enforcing worldwide policy, the Trust & Safety team is on the frontlines of enhancing the YouTube experience, building internet safety, and protecting free speech in our ever-evolving digital world.

As a Content Specialist, you will ensure we deliver performance goals for sensitive and timely escalations of potentially questionable content. You will manage the response to these escalations globally and use a variety of tools, communications, and facilitation methods to ensure issues are triaged and the right stakeholders are involved in resolution. You will also help test new processes, systems, and infrastructure to manage escalations, while also contributing input into where we put our efforts next. In addition, you will dig into the data around incidents and search for trends, impact, and possible improvements. In this role, you will review graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive video content in line with YouTube’s Community Guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce YouTube’s content policies, including misinformation, and ensure high quality policy enforcement, as part of the Hyderabad Content Specialist team within the Trust & Safety organization.
  • Manage escalations in the content policy space while ensuring high quality enforcement and clear written communication and policy analysis.
  • Review and manage escalations from graphic and controversial video content in line with YouTube’s Community Guidelines.
