Job Summary
The Crowd Supervisor at Eyeline is responsible for the studio-wide management of the crowd department, leading teams of artists, and coordinating with all levels of production. Key responsibilities include collaborating with supervisors and producers to integrate crowd pipeline efficiently, proposing creative solutions for shots, and ongoing communication regarding schedules and feedback. The role also involves training junior artists, supervising motion capture sessions, and developing pipeline tools and workflows for crowds at both show and studio levels, optimizing workflow with other departments.
Must Have
- Collaborate and communicate with supervisors and producers to implement efficient crowd pipeline integration and problem-solve for feature film development
- Propose creative approaches and solutions for specific shots
- Communicate with artists, leads, production, and supervisors regarding schedules, deadlines, and feedback
- Train and mentor junior artists in crowd-specific pipeline disciplines
- Supervise motion capture sessions when necessary for show and studio motion libraries
- Develop pipeline tools and workflows for crowds at both show and studio levels
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize workflow and pipeline
- Minimum five (5) years of crowd experience in a feature film production setting
- Experience with Houdini and/or Golaem
- Maya knowledge
Good to Have
- Experience with other Maya based crowd simulation tools (Miarmy, Massive, Houdini)
- Understanding of all parts of post-production pipeline with a focus on Animation/rigging
- MotionBuilder and Max knowledge
- Python / C++ experience

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate and communicate with supervisors and producers in order to implement efficient and effective ways to integrate crowd pipeline and problem solve if any issues for feature film development
- Propose creative approaches and solutions for any specific shots
- On-going communication with artists, leads, production and supervisor regarding schedules, deadlines and shot/sequence feedback; attend all relevant meetings on shots, sequences and production
- Train and mentor junior artists in crowd specific pipeline disciplines
- Supervise motion capture sessions when necessary for show and studio motion libraries
- Develop pipeline tools and workflows for crowds at both show and studio levels
- Collaborate with the departments to and from the crowd department to optimize workflow and pipeline
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum five (5) years of crowd experience in a feature film production setting
- Experience with Houdini and/or Golaem is required
- Maya knowledge is required
- Experience with other Maya based crowd simulation tools preferred (Miarmy, Massive, Houdini)
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision; strong troubleshooting/problem-solving ability
- Understanding of all parts of post-production pipeline with a focus on Animation/rigging
- MotionBuilder and Max knowledge is a plus
- Python / C++ experience (desired)
