Job Summary

The CVD Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on manufacturing equipment in the Chandler Fab CVD area. Key tasks include troubleshooting and repairing electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, along with consumable changes. The role requires a solid understanding of SPC, 5S, and FDC systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a high-volume cleanroom environment. The technician must follow safety protocols, diagnose equipment alarms, and use root-cause analysis to maintain semiconductor toolsets.

Must Have

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on manufacturing equipment in the CVD area.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Understand and follow all safety protocols, especially with hazardous chemicals.
  • Diagnose equipment alarms, read operational data, and create action plans.
  • Use root-cause problem-solving techniques on Semiconductor toolsets.
  • Work in a clean room environment and follow all proper cleanroom protocols.
  • Effectively communicate using written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to stand for long periods (up to 12 hours) and lift/carry objects up to 50 pounds.

Good to Have

  • AA, AS, AAS degree in electronics or other mechanical discipline.
  • 5S certified.
  • Knowledge of 6 Sigma Lean Manufacturing.

Job Description

CVD Maintenance Technician

  • The candidate(s) selected will be responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on manufacturing equipment in Chandler Fab CVD area.
  • The tasks include, but are not limited to, troubleshooting and repair of electrical and electronic systems, pneumatic and mechanical systems, scheduled maintenance, consumable changes, and various other activities relevant to the success of the area. The desired candidate should have a solid understanding of SPC, 5s, FDC systems and demonstrate problem-solving skills. The position requires the ability to interface with other internal and external groups to ensure all safety, performance, and reliability requirements are satisfied. The candidate will be required to understand and follow all safety protocols when working around hazardous chemicals. The desired candidate will be required to complete documentation and train others.
  • The position requires working a compressed shift, on days or nights.

  • Able to diagnose equipment alarms, read operational data and create action plans as needed.
  • Able to work in a high-volume manufacturing environment and sustain equipment with minimal direction.
  • Able to use root-cause problem-solving techniques to solve complex problems on Semiconductor toolsets.

Cross-functional aspects:

  • Able to work in a cross-functional team as needed, including associates.

Job Qualifications:

  • AA, AS, AAS, in electronics or other mechanical discipline is preferred. Education along with experience or military training may satisfy formal education requirements.
  • The desired candidate will be required to effectively communicate using written and verbal skills, stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours), and be physically able to perform required tasks which may include stooping, crawling in confined spaces, and lift/carry objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience working in a clean room environment and the ability to follow all proper cleanroom protocols.
  • Preferred to be 5S certified, but knowledge of the program is required.
  • Knowledge of 6 Sigma Lean Manufacturing preferred.
