The Director of Product will play a key role in shaping the future of The Sims FreePlay. This role involves defining and executing a product vision aligned with studio and franchise goals, leading a team of Product Managers, Producers, and Analysts, and crafting a high-impact roadmap. The Director will work cross-functionally with various teams, assess performance, identify growth opportunities, and evolve the game as a live service. This individual will also be part of the Studio Leadership Team, driving innovation and bringing best practices. The position requires a strategic product leader to make a global impact.
Must have:
  • 10+ years of F2P experience leading product strategy for mobile games.
  • 7+ years leading and growing high-performing product teams.
  • Track record of growing live titles by modernizing experiences.
  • Deep understanding of mobile game KPIs and data analysis.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in A/B testing and Agile product development.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen.
  • Experience developing and executing live service content roadmaps.

The Role We are seeking a Director of Product for The Sims FreePlay to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of one of the world’s most iconic mobile games. Reporting to the GM, you’ll partner on defining and executing a product vision aligned with long-term studio and franchise goals. Leading a team of Product Managers, Producers, and Analysts, you’ll craft a high-impact roadmap that blends creative ambition with player and business outcomes. You’ll work cross-functionally with Development, Finance, and Marketing teams to assess performance, uncover growth opportunities, and evolve the game as a live service. As part of the Studio Leadership Team, you’ll collaborate with central EA partners to bring best practices into play and drive innovation. This is a high-visibility role at the core of The Sims Mobile portfolio—ideal for a strategic product leader ready to make a global impact. Note: Firemonkeys has a hybrid work environment, and you will be required to work from the studio 4 days per week. Key Responsibilities * Lead the product strategy for The Sims FreePlay, aligning game development with EA’s multi-year business and franchise goals. * Drive the evolution of The Sims FreePlay by identifying opportunities to modernize core systems, refresh user experiences, and deepen long-term player engagement. * Own the live service roadmap, ensuring regular, high-impact content and features that resonate with both loyal players and new audiences. * Define and optimize monetization strategies, collaborating with design to enhance in-game economy, pricing models, and offers that drive sustainable revenue. * Use data, player feedback, and experimentation to inform decision-making, test hypotheses, and guide product development with measurable impact. * Partner with Finance to forecast performance, model growth scenarios, and support strategic planning and investment decisions. * Lead and mentor a cross-functional product team—including Product Managers, Producers, and Analysts—building a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement. * Collaborate across disciplines—Design, Engineering, Art, Marketing, and central EA teams—to deliver polished features and seamless player experiences. * Clearly communicate product vision, priorities, and outcomes to senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment and support across the organization. * Stay ahead of industry trends and market shifts, bringing fresh thinking and bold ideas to reinvent a well-established title Skills and Experience * 10+ years of F2P experience leading product strategy for successful live service mobile games. * 7+ years of experience leading and growing high-performing product and cross-functional teams. * Strong track record of growing live titles, including modernizing player experience, revitalizing engagement, and optimizing monetization over time. * Deep understanding of mobile game KPIs (e.g., retention, ARPU, LTV) and the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights. * Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align across creative and business functions. * Fluency in A/B testing, experimentation frameworks, and Agile product development methodologies. * Strong analytical and financial acumen, including forecasting, scenario planning, and partnering with Analytics and Finance on revenue modeling. * Experience developing and executing live service content roadmaps, including seasonal events, feature updates, and player lifecycle strategies. * Knowledge of player-centered design and an ability to empathize with a diverse, global player base. * Passion for games, particularly The Sims, life simulation or town builder genres, and a deep appreciation for what drives long-term player engagement.
