Job Summary

The Editor Recruitment Specialist will work closely with the Head of External Editor Resourcing to execute the strategy for attracting, engaging, and onboarding high-calibre external partners across key academic journals. This role involves supporting the identification, recruitment, and appointment of external partners, meeting KPIs, improving processes with internal colleagues, and directly supporting Editors. The specialist will also stay informed of market trends and competitor strategies to ensure Taylor & Francis maintains a diverse and robust editorial network that drives content growth, quality, and innovation.

Must Have

  • Supporting the Head of External Editor Resourcing in achieving our end-to-end strategy for identifying, recruiting, and retaining external editors, with a focus on quality, diversity and subject coverage.
  • Working closely with publishing and editorial teams to directly support the identification, recruitment and appointment of key external partners to meet business goals and editorial strategy.
  • Meeting and where possible exceeding key performance indicators related to successful recruitment and network health.
  • Working cross functionally with internal colleagues including Publishing, Marketing, Research Development & Outreach and Editor Services to continuously improve processes relating to editor recruitment and onboarding.
  • Working directly with Editors and potential-Editors where appropriate to support their partnership with T&F, and ensuring that they have the information, skills and resources they need for success.
  • Staying informed of market trends, competitor strategies and innovations relating to talent management.
  • Academic Publishing experience, including interaction with External Editors.
  • An understanding of publishing workflows and editorial standards.
  • Experience gathering and using data to inform decision making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent numerical and verbal reasoning skills.
  • A proactive approach to work, with a willingness and ability to deliver on time, and to a high standard.
  • Experience working with contacts across the world.

Job Description

The Editor Recruitment Specialist will work closely with the Head of External Editor Resourcing to execute our strategy for attracting, engaging, and onboarding high-calibre external partners across key academic journals.

This exciting role offers the opportunity to develop your skills as part of a new team, playing a vital part in ensuring Taylor & Francis maintains a diverse and robust editorial network that drives content growth, quality, and innovation.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supporting the Head of External Editor Resourcing in achieving our end-to-end strategy for identifying, recruiting, and retaining external editors, with a focus on quality, diversity and subject coverage.

Additional Information

Location: We believe that great things happen when people connect face-to-face. That's why we work in-person with each other, or with customers and partners, three days a week or more. When you’re not spending time together in one of our offices or other workplaces – like at conference – you get the flexibility and support to work from home or remotely.

The successful candidate will be able to utilise our balanced working model. We ask that candidates live within a commutable distance of our office in Bengaluru to ensure that as a balanced worker they can make it to our office location to collaborate as required. There is an expectation for a minimum of 3 days per week in-person time.
