Employee Success Function Description

The Employee Success team is comprised of HR professionals, Operations, and Coordinators who are dedicated to building a thriving workplace at Salesforce. We support various business units, refine our operations, and innovate people-centric initiatives, all guided by our core cultural values, which we call "Ohana" (the Hawaiian word for family). These values—Trust, Customer Success, Innovation, Giving Back, Equality, Wellness, Transparency, and Fun—are the foundation of every decision we make.

Role Description

As a key member of the Rewards Intelligence team, you will be a senior compensation strategist who transforms market data into actionable intelligence. This role moves decisively beyond traditional benchmarking. You will leverage a suite of traditional and real-time data sources to build a forward-looking, predictive lens on the market, ensuring Salesforce can anticipate market shifts and make agile, data-driven decisions. Your work will directly empower our leadership to secure our position as the undisputed leader in the competition for talent.

Your Impact: From Data to Decision

  • Go Beyond Traditional Benchmarking: Evolve our market intelligence capabilities by identifying, analyzing, and interpreting market trends using real-time data sources, including aggregated offer data, public filings, and advanced analytics.
  • Develop Predictive Insights & Strategic Scenarios: Move beyond historical reporting to forecast future salary trends and skill-based pay premiums, particularly in critical segments like AI talent. You will model scenarios and develop proactive recommendations for leadership before challenges become crises.
  • Act as a Strategic Advisor: Function as an internal consultant, deconstructing complex market dynamics—such as country trend analysis, skill based compensation insights, job architectures—and translating them into clear, actionable go-to-market strategies for our business and recruiting partners.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Own and enhance the analytical engine of our rewards function. You will manage the core salary benchmarking and survey submission processes, but with a relentless focus on driving efficiency through automation and standardization to free up capacity for higher-value predictive work.
  • Empower Partners with Self-Service Intelligence: Contribute to the development and scaling of self-service intelligence tools that put actionable, trusted, and contextual information directly at the fingertips of our Compensation and Benefits partners, elevating them from data gatherers to strategic consultants.
  • Lead High-Priority Strategic Initiatives: Parachute into complex, cross-functional projects as they arise, from modeling the rewards implications of a potential acquisition to developing a retention strategy for a critical talent pipeline.

Who You Are

  • Experience: 4+ years in a highly analytical role where you served as a thought partner to leadership. Backgrounds in Management Consulting, Corporate Strategy, or a progressive, strategically-focused Total Rewards/Compensation role are ideal.
  • Analytical Horsepower: Proven expertise in translating complex, ambiguous questions into structured, data-driven analyses. You have a hypothesis-driven approach to problem-solving and are comfortable navigating large, complex, and often incomplete datasets to find the signal in the noise.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in data analysis and modeling using tools like Excel and Google Sheets is required. Experience with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Einstein Analytics) is strongly preferred.
  • Storytelling with Data: You are not just a data analyst; you are an insight generator. You have exceptional communication and presentation skills with a proven ability to craft compelling narratives, visualize data effectively, and influence senior leadership.
  • Business Acumen: You are intellectually curious and passionate about the "why." You seek to understand the underlying business challenges and connect your market analysis to tangible business impact.
  • Adaptability & Drive: You thrive in a fast-moving, dynamic environment and have a strong sense of ownership and a relentless drive to deliver results. You can work well under pressure with a high degree of autonomy.

Preferred Skills

  • Deep experience analyzing compensation trends within the technology industry, particularly for competitive AI, engineering, or research talent pools.
  • Experience with advanced compensation analysis, analyzing equity structures, and using non-traditional data sources (e.g., SEC filings).
  • Experience working with Workday HRIS, BetterComp, or other advanced Compensation data systems.
