Job Description

The Engineering Team Manager will lead the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Smartphone Projection software development team, responsible for end-to-end design, integration, validation, and delivery of automotive connectivity features within Android-based infotainment platforms built on Qualcomm host processors. The role requires strong expertise in connectivity stacks, Android framework, and program delivery leadership, ensuring reliable wireless communication features for global OEM infotainment systems.
Must Have:
  • Lead end-to-end software development for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Projection (CarPlay / Android Auto / AAA) features.
  • Manage feature design, integration, and testing across multiple Qualcomm-based Android platforms (SA8255 / SA8155 / SA8295).
  • Own Bluetooth stack integration including Classic, BLE, HFP, A2DP, AVRCP, PBAP, MAP, SPP, HID, and PAN profiles.
  • Oversee Wi-Fi stack integration covering hotspot, STA, P2P, Soft-AP, tethering, and concurrent mode operation.
  • Drive Projection software integration for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Google Automotive Assistant (AAA) ensuring functional and certification compliance.
  • Define system-level architecture for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Projection subsystems and their interaction with Android framework layers.
  • Plan and manage software deliverables for multiple OEM infotainment programs, ensuring adherence to milestones and budgets.
  • Maintain compliance with ASPICE Level 2+ (SWE1–SWE6) and internal development process standards.
  • Lead a team of 15–20 engineers across Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Projection software domains.
  • Act as the primary technical interface to OEM and Tier-1 customers for connectivity and projection feature delivery.
  • B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Electronics, Computer Science, or Embedded Systems Engineering.
  • 10–14 years of experience in automotive infotainment or mobile connectivity software, with at least 3+ years in a managerial/lead role.
  • Strong experience in Android-based connectivity subsystems (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Projection).
  • Expertise in Bluetooth Stack Architecture (AOSP / Bluedroid / Fluoride), HAL, and upper-layer profiles.
  • Hands-on experience in Wi-Fi frameworks, wpa_supplicant, hostapd, and driver integration.
  • Deep understanding of Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Google Automotive Assistant (AAA) integration and certification processes.
  • Experience with Qualcomm connectivity solutions (CNSS / QCA9377 / QCA6574 / WCNSS) and related firmware interfaces.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Java, with experience debugging across Android Framework and HAL layers.
  • Familiar with logcat, QXDM, Wireshark, Bluetooth sniffer tools, adb, and shell utilities for debugging and validation.
  • Exposure to Android 11–14 or Android Automotive OS based platforms.
  • Experience in coexistence debugging and performance optimization for concurrent BT/Wi-Fi operations.
  • Working knowledge of CarPlay / Android Auto certification test plans and tools (CTS, GTS, IOP validation).

Role Summary

The Engineering Team Manager will lead the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Smartphone Projection software development team, responsible for end-to-end design, integration, validation, and delivery of automotive connectivity features within Android-based infotainment platforms built on Qualcomm host processors (SA8255, SA8155, SA8295). The role requires a strong blend of connectivity stack expertise, Android framework understanding, and program delivery leadership, ensuring reliable and certified wireless communication features for global OEM infotainment systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Connectivity Software Development & Integration

  • Lead end-to-end software development for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Projection (CarPlay / Android Auto / AAA) features.
  • Manage feature design, integration, and testing across multiple Qualcomm-based Android platforms (SA8255 / SA8155 / SA8295).
  • Own Bluetooth stack integration including Classic, BLE, HFP, A2DP, AVRCP, PBAP, MAP, SPP, HID, and PAN profiles.
  • Oversee Wi-Fi stack integration covering hotspot, STA, P2P, Soft-AP, tethering, and concurrent mode operation.
  • Drive Projection software integration for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Google Automotive Assistant (AAA) ensuring functional and certification compliance.
  • Ensure seamless audio, projection, and connectivity coexistence within the Android system.

System Architecture & Technical Ownership

  • Define system-level architecture for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Projection subsystems and their interaction with Android framework layers (Connectivity, HAL, Network Manager).
  • Ensure robust coexistence management between Bluetooth and Wi-Fi in concurrent operation scenarios.
  • Coordinate with Audio and Telephony teams for routing, call handoff, and A2DP streaming optimization.
  • Integrate Qualcomm connectivity SDKs (QCA / CNSS / WCN) into platform builds, ensuring stability and certification readiness.
  • Drive technical feasibility analysis for new features and software evolution planning.

Delivery, Process & Quality Management

  • Plan and manage software deliverables for multiple OEM infotainment programs, ensuring adherence to milestones and budgets.
  • Maintain compliance with ASPICE Level 2+ (SWE1–SWE6) and internal development process standards.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated build validation, and static analysis for connectivity and projection modules.
  • Track software quality metrics – feature completion, defect trends, regression pass rate, and certification readiness.
  • Drive resolution of interoperability and certification issues (BT SIG, Wi-Fi Alliance, CarPlay, Android Auto).
  • Manage NOK and field issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead a team of 15–20 engineers across Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Projection software domains.
  • Define roles, KPIs, and performance expectations for each team member.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Mentor technical leads on Android Connectivity Framework, Bluetooth stack debugging, and Wi-Fi firmware integration.
  • Drive competency development through regular workshops, cross-training, and technology updates.

Customer & Stakeholder Interaction

  • Act as the primary technical interface to OEM and Tier-1 customers for connectivity and projection feature delivery.
  • Represent the team in design reviews, technical audits, and certification readiness discussions.
  • Interface with Qualcomm, Google, and Apple technical partners for issue resolution and feature integration.
  • Participate in RFQs and new program discussions, supporting estimation, resource planning, and solution proposals.

Required Skills & Experience

  • B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Electronics, Computer Science, or Embedded Systems Engineering.
  • 10–14 years of experience in automotive infotainment or mobile connectivity software, with at least 3+ years in a managerial/lead role.
