Job Description

The Executive VFX Producer will mentor and guide producers of all levels, particularly Junior and Associate Producers, and work with the global New Business team to secure projects. They will oversee newly awarded projects, assign them to appropriate producers, and monitor creative and financial progress. This role involves maintaining studio/client relationships, acting as an escalation point, and collaborating with Production Accounts to track financial health. The producer will also be involved in strategic planning for film projects, ensuring adherence to best practices and global company strategy.
Must have:
  • Extensive high-end feature film VFX Producer experience
  • Proven project management experience, including scheduling and budgeting
  • Experience in bidding and winning work
  • Ability to oversee multiple VFX shows
  • Proven leadership experience and experience managing production teams under high level of pressure and during fast-paced show delivery times
  • Expertise in building effective working relationships and effective communication with internal crew, cross site crew and clients
  • Proven relationships with VFX clients and studios
  • High-level knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Minimum education of Diploma level or equivalent
  • Ability to establish priorities amongst multiple shows

  • Knowledge of MS Project

Position at DNEG

The Executive VFX Producer responsibilities include:

  • Mentoring and guiding producers of all levels, particularly our Junior and Associate Producers
  • Working with the global New Business team on projects in early stages to support as needed to help get shows awarded
  • Oversee newly awarded projects that don't yet have an available assigned producer
  • Working with the Head of Production to assign new shows to the appropriate producer
  • When required, hand a new project off to assigned producer with detailed brief and overview of
  • Oversee creative and financial progress of shows where there is a junior or Associate producer in place and report findings to HOP
  • Run weekly meeting with our experienced producers to ensure production is running smoothly and offering advice when needed
  • Attend weekly meetings with HOP to go over status of current projects and any potential incoming new projects to the site
  • Maintaining studio/client relationships and alongside the HOP, acting as a point of escalation for any issues on shows
  • Working closely with Production Accounts to keep track of the financial health of projects and to provide detailed reporting alongside our Junior and Associate Producers
  • Jump on to a project as Producer when needed to cover for Producer sick/holiday or other coverage
  • Involved in strategic planning for current and upcoming film projects; organise GetGo meetings and participate in Methodology meetings, etc
  • Knowledgeable of relevant tax credit schemes for our clients, blended rebates and necessary qualifications
  • Work closely with the HOP and Central Production Manager to ensure all shows you are overseeing are following best practices and global processes for Production
  • Assist CPM with production training as needed
  • Looking at the bigger pictures of shows and managing production in line with the global company strategy
