Job Description

Frontier is seeking a Graduate Audio Designer for its Creative Services Audio team in Cambridge, UK. This entry-level hybrid role involves delivering linear audio content for publishing, community, and studio-facing materials like game trailers and developer interviews. The successful candidate will work under the mentorship of experienced Audio Designers, focusing on mixing, track-laying, and assisting with audio recordings, while continuously developing their skills in linear audio, storytelling, and mixing.
Good To Have:
  • Interest in video games (especially Frontier games)
  • Basic experience in creating sound effects using custom recordings and audio libraries
  • Familiarity with DAWs (Reaper) and the integrated use of plug-ins
Must Have:
  • Deliver assigned tasks on time and to the required quality standards
  • Mix and track-lay linear content to deadlines
  • Assist with on-site or location-based audio recordings as required
  • Interpret and follow creative briefs for asset production
  • Collaborate with Creative Services Producers and Creative Services Audio Team to define and manage timelines
  • Proactively report issues to your manager and seek assistance in a timely manner
  • Work to further your skill and understanding of linear audio
  • Understanding of the principles of linear sound design and basic knowledge of storytelling and mixing techniques
  • Drive to improve and better understand your craft
  • Ability to take direction and learn from more experienced Audio Designers
  • Willingness to acknowledge mistakes and apply lessons learned to improve performance
  • Constructive attitude and resilience to perform effectively under pressure

WHAT’S THE ROLE?

We’re looking for a Graduate Audio Designer to join our Creative Services Audio team. The Creative Services team provides support for publishing, community and studio facing content such as game announcement trailers or developer interviews.

In this entry level role, you’ll deliver linear audio content with oversight from the Creative Services team. As a graduate in the Creative Services Audio team, you’ll receive mentorship from experienced Audio Designers and be part of a culture which encourages continuous learning and career growth.

This role is intended for candidates at graduate level; we’re not currently seeking more experienced linear sound designers.

Applicants should provide a website or LinkedIn profile featuring an easily accessible showreel of sound design and mixing work (preferably excluding music). Redesigns are acceptable.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Delivering assigned tasks on time and to the required quality standards
  • Mixing and track-laying linear content to deadlines
  • Assisting with on-site or location-based audio recordings as required
  • Interpreting and following creative briefs for asset production, collaborating with Creative Services Producers and Creative Services Audio Team to define and manage timelines
  • Collaborating with colleagues and other disciplines to help streamline audio deliverables
  • Proactively reporting issues to your manager and seeking assistance in a timely manner
  • Working to further your skill and understanding of linear audio, specifically with regards to mixing, storytelling, and the use of audio tools.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
