This role, as a Mental Health & Positive Duty Consultant, is critical for fostering a safe, healthy, and mentally supportive workplace culture. The specialist will collaborate across stakeholders to develop and implement best-practice mental health and safety initiatives, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
Good To Have:
  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation of HR/HSWE strategic programs of work – preferably mental health programs.
  • Skills in innovation, creativity and communications.
Must Have:
  • Contribute to programs of work across business functions using health and safety/health management expertise.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to embed mental health and safety initiatives.
  • Contribute to the case coordination and monitoring of positive duty referrals.
  • Consider data and research inputs to understand indicators of risk.
  • Recommend appropriate human-centred/trauma informed/best practice delivery solutions.
  • Participate in post implementation reviews (PIR)/retro methods.
  • Stay across external and internal mental health and safety trends.
  • Foundational degree (minimum) in psychology, occupational therapy or social work.
  • Stakeholder Engagement experience.
  • 2 years’ experience managing psychosocial risks / health and safety/ health management or workplace rehabilitation / case management of mental health incidents.
  • Experience in dealing with complex organisational issues.

As the Mental Health & Positive Duty Consultant, you play a critical role in fostering a safe, healthy, and mentally supportive workplace culture. This specialist collaborates across stakeholders to develop and implement best-practice mental health and safety initiatives aligned with organizational strategy, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Using health and safety/health management expertise, contribute to programs of work across business functions and identify opportunities for program improvements.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand the opportunities to embed mental health and safety initiatives within business function practices and programs of work.
  • Contribute to the case coordination and monitoring of positive duty referrals.
  • Consider data and research inputs to understand indicators of risk from multiple perspectives using qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Recommend appropriate human-centred/trauma informed/ best practice delivery solutions.
  • Participate in post implementation reviews (PIR)/retro methods (qualitative and/or quantitative)
  • Stay across external and internal mental health and safety trends/evidence and use insights to shape thinking, strategy and solutions

To be successful in this role, you must have:

Essential Qualifications

  • Foundational degree (minimum) in psychology, occupational therapy or social work.
  • Stakeholder Engagement experience.
  • 2 years’ experience managing psychosocial risks / health and safety/ health management or workplace rehabilitation / case management of mental health incidents.
  • Possess positive demeanour – has goal-oriented mindset, positive attitude and is a proactive contributor
  • Experience in dealing with complex organisational issues.
  • Other relevant business and industry experience.

Highly Desirable Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation of HR/HSWE strategic programs of work – preferably mental health programs.
  • Skills in innovation, creativity and communications.
