Job Description

The Semiconductor Maintenance Technician will be responsible for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on manufacturing equipment in the Chandler Fab CVD area. Tasks include troubleshooting and repair of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, scheduled maintenance, and consumable changes. The role requires understanding SPC, 5s, FDC systems, problem-solving skills, and adherence to safety protocols around hazardous chemicals. The position involves working a compressed shift and requires documentation and training others.
Good To Have:
  • AA, AS, AAS degree in electronics or mechanical discipline.
  • 5S certified.
  • Knowledge of 6 Sigma Lean Manufacturing.
Must Have:
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on manufacturing equipment in the CVD area.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Understand and follow all safety protocols when working around hazardous chemicals.
  • Diagnose equipment alarms and create action plans.
  • Work in a high-volume manufacturing environment with minimal direction.
  • Use root-cause problem-solving techniques on Semiconductor toolsets.
  • Effectively communicate using written and verbal skills.
  • Stand for long periods (up to 12 hours) and perform physical tasks (stooping, crawling, lifting up to 50 pounds).
  • Work in a clean room environment and follow protocols.
  • Knowledge of 5S program.
  • Maintain Chandler Fab CVD toolsets including AMAT Centura 5200, AMAT P5000, AMAT Producer, Novellus Concept 2 STI, Watkins Johnson 999, Rigaku XRF 3650, Edwards Abatement.

Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The candidate(s) selected will be responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on manufacturing equipment in Chandler Fab CVD area.
  • The tasks include, but are not limited to, troubleshooting and repair of electrical and electronic systems, pneumatic and mechanical systems, scheduled maintenance, consumable changes, and various other activities relevant to the success of the area. The desired candidate should have a solid understanding of SPC, 5s, FDC systems and demonstrate problem-solving skills. The position requires the ability to interface with other internal and external groups to ensure all safety, performance, and reliability requirements are satisfied. The candidate will be required to understand and follow all safety protocols when working around hazardous chemicals. The desired candidate will be required to complete documentation and train others.
  • The position requires working a compressed shift, on days or nights.

Key Challenges:

  • Able to diagnose equipment alarms, read operational data and create action plans as needed.
  • Able to work in a high-volume manufacturing environment and sustain equipment with minimal direction.
  • Able to use root-cause problem-solving techniques to solve complex problems on Semiconductor toolsets.

Cross-functional aspects:

  • Able to work in a cross-functional team as needed, including associates.

Job Qualifications:

  • AA, AS, AAS, in electronics or other mechanical discipline is preferred. Education along with experience or military training may satisfy formal education requirements.
  • The desired candidate will be required to effectively communicate using written and verbal skills, stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours), and be physically able to perform required tasks which may include stooping, crawling in confined spaces, and lift/carry objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience working in a clean room environment and the ability to follow all proper cleanroom protocols.
  • Preferred to be 5S certified, but knowledge of the program is required.
  • Knowledge of 6 Sigma Lean Manufacturing preferred.
