  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business, psychology or related field
  • 5-7 years experience in HR Generalist capacity
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience leading change management
  • Experience in a fast-paced, growing environment
  • Thorough knowledge of Australian and New Zealand employment legislation
Good to have:
  • Manager/Lead experience preferred

The HR Manager is responsible for the HR function in Australia and New Zealand, ensuring the HR strategy is aligned with business priorities. This position ensures effective service delivery in the following areas: HR Operations, benefit administration, employee relations, training, performance management, talent management, organisational development, onboarding, policy implementation, recruiting/employment, and employment law compliance. 

Responsibilities 

  • Leads the HR function and assists in implementing HR strategy aligned with business objectives for Australia and New Zealand. 
  • Serves as a business advisor and consultant on Australian and New Zealand labour laws, and provides talent market insights. 
  • Assists the talent acquisition, talent management, and compensation teams, ensuring compliance with all relevant employment legislation and regulations in Australia and New Zealand. 
  • Ensures robust personnel policies and procedures are in place. 
  • Works with leaders on developing department goals, objectives, and systems in line with the objectives of the sites. 
  • Ensures local compensation programs are aligned with overall compensation strategy and market benchmarks. 
  • Works with the Total Rewards team to oversee benefit programs, including administration, communication, claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices, and management of annual renewal and open enrolment. Leads local corporate wellness and charitable initiatives. 
  • Conducts new employee orientations, participates in local career fairs, and assists the Talent Acquisition team with placing career advertisements. 
  • Coaches the team in employee relations matters. 
  • With leadership, coaches and develops team members to ensure long-term development and retention. 
  • Provides manager coaching and training, including performance management, recruiting, and employee relations management. 
  • Assists in the coordination of employee recognition events and special programs. 
  • Understands business needs and masters HR methodologies and tools to build the best-fit HR Strategy for a fast-paced, growing site. 
  • Identifies and tracks HR KPIs to align HR Strategy with Business Strategy and priorities. 
  • Assists in building a talent pipeline internally and externally, based on the talent identification process. Identifies key business positions and assigns talent in a 70/20/10 career development plan. 
  • Builds development plans based on leader, team, and individual needs to strengthen current and future capabilities in the organization. 
  • Works closely with team members on strategies and actions that positively impact key engagement indicators, fostering an organization where all associates are willing to stay, contribute, and develop their careers. 
  • Drives employer branding in every HR business interaction and HR Programs that reflect Veeam’s values and principles. 
  • In coordination with the Payroll department, ensures accurate timekeeping records and policy adherence. 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, psychology or related field. Equivalent experience accepted. 
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a HR Representative / Generalist capacity. 
  • Manager/Lead preferred. 
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills, with an emphasis on Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to communicate with employees at multiple levels. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Experience leading change management initiatives throughout the organization. 
  • Experience in a fast-paced, growing environment. 
  • Thorough knowledge of Australian and New Zealand employment legislation and HR best practices.
