Job Summary

The QA Inspector at Gevernova performs critical inspections on steam and gas turbines and generator components. Key responsibilities include conducting magnetic particle, hot magnetic particle, dye penetrant, and ultrasonic inspections, as well as hardness testing and dimensional measurements. The role involves visual assessment of turbine components, preparing and tracking Non-Conformance Reports, and providing detailed inspection documentation. Candidates must possess a High School Diploma/GED and be able to obtain ASNT-TC-1A Level I/II certification in MT, PT, and UT, ensuring the quality and safety of power generating equipment.

Must Have

  • Perform magnetic particle inspection of generator and turbine rotors.
  • Perform hot magnetic particle inspection.
  • Perform dye penetrant inspection.
  • Review safety requirements for Ultrasonic Inspections.
  • Perform Ultrasonic Inspection.
  • Set up and operate hardness testing (Equotip, Wilson, and Clark).
  • Perform dimensional measurements and visual assessment of turbine components.
  • Prepare and track Non-Conformance Reports.
  • Provide detailed report of all inspections.
  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain / maintain ASNT-TC-1A Level I/II certificate or equivalent in MT, PT and UT.

Good to Have

  • Associate's Degree in a Technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Technical experience with a variety of power generating equipment.
  • Proven ability to follow written and verbal instructions to solve complex problems.
  • Proven ability to document and follow proper procedures and train others.
  • Proven ability to work independently and with others under stressful conditions.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
  • Actively pursuing further secondary education or training certification opportunities for future career advancement in a quality related field.

Role Summary/Purpose:

The QA Inspector performs inspections on turbines (steam and gas) and generator components.

Essential Responsibilities:

As a QA Inspector you will:

  • Perform magnetic particle inspection of generator and turbine rotors, reporting requirements, steam turbine casings, identification of fusion lines, vane carrier, and blades;
  • Perform hot magnetic particle inspection;
  • Perform dye penetrant inspection removed blades, retaining rings and faceplates, installed blades, generator dovetails, vane carriers, wedges, and hardware;
  • Review safety requirements for Ultrasonic Inspections;
  • Perform Ultrasonic Inspection bearings / braze coupons, tenons, blade pins (installed), weld build-up, phased array weld build-up, phased array L-O steeples, flaw depth sizing, retaining ring forging and bar stock;
  • Set up and operate hardness testing Equotip, Wilson, and Clark;
  • Preform dimensional measurements, makes visual assessment of turbine component;
  • Prepare and tracks Non-Conformance Reports;
  • Provide detailed report of all inspections.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED;
