Interior / Exterior Studio Engineer

Technicon Design Sweden is looking for an experienced Interior / Exterior Studio Engineer to join their client's design studio in Gothenburg. This role involves bridging the gap between design and engineering, ensuring technical feasibility while maintaining design integrity. Key responsibilities include translating requirements, generating feasible solutions, documenting agreements, assessing design feasibility, and supporting clay model setup.

Must Have

• Act as the voice of design within engineering discussions
• Translate engineering requirements into design possibilities and vice versa
• Generate feasible solutions for technically challenging areas
• Document agreements between design and engineering teams
• Assess and communicate feasibility of design themes, raising critical issues
• Support clay model setup (standing heights, wheel positions, seating positions, etc.)
• Technical university degree or equivalent
• 10+ years in the automotive industry
• Strong background in vehicle engineering (interior & exterior)
• Extensive experience in concept and component engineering for aesthetic-sensitive areas
• Proficient in Catia V5 (Solid & Surface) and Teamcenter (Author level)
• Strong understanding of vehicle development processes, manufacturing, tooling, and validation
• Fluency in English

Good to Have

• Previous experience in a design studio
• Mandarin fluency

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Technical university degree or equivalent.
• Experience:

• 10+ years in the automotive industry.
• Strong background in vehicle engineering (interior & exterior).
• Extensive experience in concept and component engineering for aesthetic-sensitive areas.
• Previous experience in a design studio is a plus.

• Technical Skills:

• Proficient in Catia V5 (Solid & Surface) and Teamcenter (Author level).
• Strong understanding of vehicle development processes, manufacturing, tooling, and validation.
• Software: MS Office, Jira.

• Willingness to travel occasionally to China (visa eligibility required).
• Fluency in English; Mandarin is a plus.
