Job Description

IT Service Manager Media Workflows (m/w/d)

As an IT Service Manager Media Workflow Integration, you will be part of a team that not only supports editorial teams but significantly simplifies their daily work. You ensure that technical services and systems function reliably and contribute your own ideas to make workflows even smarter. Whether it's photo systems, production processes, or new tools: You keep everything moving, learn quickly, and actively contribute to ensuring that editorial work remains smooth and creative.

We believe in the future of journalism as a business model and invest in forward-looking technologies. Our five Essentials are the values that connect us and our compass in our commitment to freedom.

What you will move with us:

  • You take responsibility for the implementation, operation, and continuous optimization of digital asset management systems (photo, audio, video), editorial systems, and media workflows for our editorial teams.
  • You ensure high availability and reliability of the systems so that editorial work processes function smoothly.
  • You work closely with departments, IT operations, and external partners and actively contribute to enabling efficient workflows.
  • You analyze technical challenges and find solutions before others even notice that a problem exists.
  • With your ideas, you further develop our production infrastructure to make innovations usable.
  • In application management and 2nd-level support, you are the person who confidently solves technical questions.

What you bring:

  • You have completed training or studies related to media technology or computer science, or you bring comparable experience; however, your willingness to quickly familiarize yourself with new technical contexts is more important.
  • Initial experience with DAM systems is desirable, but we are also happy to teach you the basic functions and complex scenarios such as metadata workflows.
  • You can already work with networks, databases, and Windows systems. Experience with Docker, application administration, or cloud services like AWS is a clear advantage but not a mandatory prerequisite.
  • With your analytical skills and your ability to cooperate, you recognize optimization potential in increasing the efficiency of workflows.
  • With your strong communication skills, you understand the needs of the editorial team and jointly develop practical technical solutions.
  • You think conceptually, enjoy working independently, and always keep quality in mind.
  • Communication, teamwork, and customer orientation are among your key strengths, complemented by a pragmatic hands-on mentality.
  • Very good German and English language skills complete your profile.

What we offer:

  • Diverse health offers and support for all life situations: From sports courses (Wellhub), yoga, and meditation to preventive check-ups and professional coaching with renowned partners (PME Familienservice).
  • Exceptional campus in the heart of Berlin with modern office spaces and collaboration opportunities, as well as flexible working hours and work-life balance.
  • Free food offer: in addition to a breakfast snack, a free lunch in our Kiez restaurant.
  • A variety of seminar and workshop offers, language courses, conferences, and lectures from in-house experts, as well as networking events within the Axel Springer Group.
  • Collaboration thrives on direct exchange – we rely on 80% office presence and 20% mobile working.
  • We offer you a permanent position, full-time or part-time, starting as soon as possible.
